Going back to dental.... I think...
 
Ok so I was a registered dental assistant for about 8 years. I left the field and now decided that I may want to go back. I have an interview at an office tomorrow at 2PM. Wish me luck!

Because I was good at it and what I've been doing hasn't been working out for me. I was happier back then too.... and skinnier.. probably because I was on my feet a lot. Anyway this office is close to where I live to. Excited and nervous!

Hoping so... My gap in dental employment is what worries me. I put in 15 resumes and got one call back. It use to be my phone would be ringing off the hook when I was looking for a job. But I just need to get my foot back in the door. lol

Right now, I'm in the process of getting my license renewed. That will probably take about two months. But I told this office that and they still want to interview me. We will see how it goes.

I hope it all goes perfectly and you impress the heck out of them and they'll offer to give you a chance to go back to a job you obviously love!

They are in no hurry to hire anyone. They are interviewing people through the week and next, then will make a decision. So not holding my breath. And then even then, the "chosen" person has to pass a two week "working interview" Like I said, not holding my breath, but I will check with them next week if I don't hear anything.

If this office doesn't jump on the chance to get you back in the field, I still think it's a great field to be in...stick to it, sounds like you enjoyed it, was good at it and you have the incidental benefit of weight loss. Perfection!!!

Yeah I quit after two weeks. I didn't like it at all. My old job took me back but I am miserable there. :(

Ugh, that's awful. It's so hard to tell ahead of time what's going to be a dream job, work out and what's not. Glad your old job took you back for the meantime but hopefully you can get back into dental work very soon. I sure hope this current job is the way back into dentistry but if not, eventually if you keep working hard at it, hopefully you can get back into it.

Yeah, I left for my own personal reasons. But now I want to go back. I am sure I can get back into it, it will just be a little more tricky and I need to find the right approach. I have a lot of experience though. I got an interview my first week of trying. I will keep trying until something comes along.

Yes I am thankful I have my current job, I am just tired of it. LOL

I was just contacted by a temp agency. They are going to help me get temp work! This will be a perfect way to help me get my foot back in the door! :):)

I forgot I submitted my info to them last week. So glad they contacted me. I am filling out the paperwork now.
