Does anyone know how far into the books the show has gotten?

I'm halfway through the 4th book but I've only seen the first season

I was cheering when Joffrey finally bit the dust. Well deserved. I would be happy to see the other sadistic one go too. Ramsay Bolton, I think is his name.

The scene with Oberon and Tyrion was heartwrenching. I agree, very well acted. Peter Dinklage is amazing in all of his scenes. Loved the trial and how he dealt with his lover and his father.

I couldn't believe the way Shae betrayed Tyrion! I kept trying to think that she must be doing it bc of some scheme to free him in the end, but nope...she really turned out to be a fraud.

Its really varying. They're really ahead on Bran and Sansa's stories. But otherwise they've pretty much finished the 3rd book. They keep changing things the further into the seasons they've gotten. Leaving alot out and improvising as well.

lol it's basically all I've done for the past month or two.


I'm already not liking the show as much as the books, such as having Dany's dragons stolen and the Jon and Ygritte story so far.


I swear HBO is ruining my childhood. First there was Janis Ian (Mean Girls) naked, having sex, and doing drugs on True Blood, and now full frontal Tonks (Harry Potter) on GoT (Osha).

Did anyone watch the season premiere of GoT last night? SO GOOD. So so so good!

I'm still not convinced John Snow is totally gone - I think there is still a chance the Red Witch will bring him back.

And then did you see the preview for next week..??!! It looks as if Cersei may have grown a conscience and is going to march to the Sept and demand the release of poor Marjorie!! I like Marjorie and want her back w/ Tommen bc she would be a great ruling queen consort, yes?

Just started watching season one:eek::D:eek: I am about 5 episodes in, wow I can not believe the violence, and the nakedness, just watched where they poured the gold over the blond girls brother, I did not like him so much anyway, then the queen's father spent over 5 full min. on the screen gutting and skinning what looked like a boar, then watched Kaleese (sp?) ride her horse while dragging a full frontal naked man:eek: That boar scene really pissed me off, do the really expect you to watch something like that for so long, I hid my eyes until my husband said he was finished but man he took a long time. LOL the worst part is I was eating my dinner while watching:D I think I like it but still am not sure, it is totally confusing and I can not keep the names straight or who's on who's side, and some of the gore and violence is a little to much for me to watch. Do any of you guys hide your eyes?

So that brings me to a question, does anyone know of a web site sort of like a Game of Throne for dummies where I can read the names and a little bit about each character in effort to keep it all straight.

The nakedness doesn't bother me one whit, not at all. I mean, it's just the human body, after all, and we all have one :).

The animal gore does bother me at times, so I just deal w/ that if/when it comes.

I agree, the premiere was sooo good! The final scene with the Red Witch and the mirror. There must be something coming with John Snow.

My only complaint is that I am always wanting more of each storyline. There is so much going on!

Ramsay Bolton and his torture is hard to stomach too. I wish he would meet his end soon.

Donna, speaking of nakedness, wait until you get to the end of season 5. No spoilers, but a very powerful, long naked scene.

I watched about... 7 eps? I think a while back. I'm sooo mad I just couldn't get into it. Nothing to do with the nudity/gore anything like that (watch a lot of that LOL...) but I don't even know. I just felt constantly confused. And I'm annoyed because I could tell how WELL acted the show is, the cinematography, the writing, the graphics, everything I know it top notch. Maybe it's one of those I have to give another chance. I know so many people love it.

I had to try watching the first episode about 6 times before I could get past the 15 minute mark. Finally I was in the mood for it and I binge watched 4 seasons. It is a challenge following so many characters and storylines.

I think that's what makes it so good though!

I hate to think of John Snow being dead. I didn't like it when they killed off Ned Stark either.
