I eat them everyday. Yes they have some fat, but they are good fat. I have read before they are good to eat to help get rid of belly fat too. |
I haven't tried them but I heard avocado fries are very good. There sliced, breaded with some seasoning and oven fried. |
I LOVE avocados!!! Eat them all the time. sometimes just right out of the shell! I chop them up fresh and put them on salad very often. sometimes I sprinkle lemon-pepper on them and eat them like that. I very rarely mix them with other stuff, but if they get overripe and too brown looking, I'll mix them in with homemade fresh salsa to eat with tortilla chips or pita chips. The smooth, creamy, nutty flavor is amazing!! |

God I love avocado. If I was a millionaire I'd eat nothing but raw oysters, broiled scallops, pistachios, and avocados haha. But they gotta be either Californian or Mexican avocados. I HATE the Chilean ones that have this disgusting twinge of sweetness that ruins them. Next year is going to suck with the historic drought killing off all the Califonia avocado trees. I love eating avocado with just a little salt or on top of a burger. And guacamole with onions, a little serrano, lime juice, cilantro, salt, and a very little bit of tomato is absolutely spectacular when you dice everything so finely that you can't even see the chunks anymore. The only thing I never get is people who put avocado in omelettes. The flavor of avocado is way too delicate to really shine through then, so all you have really done is doubled the price of your omelette, and it still tastes the same. On thing I never understood: where does the name avocado come from? It sounds Spanish, but in spanish the word for it is aguacate. |
OK, apparently avocado was an English language mistake in trying to pronounce aguacate. |
