PERFUME TALK! My fav thing to wear! I'd love to hear what perfume everyone likes - My personal absolute all time been wearing it for 20 years is SamSara ...someone once told me I smelled like GOLD lol but I DO - my best friend smelled it on me one time - and immediately went and got her some too! Bvlgari - Great and long lasting....and have had elevator comments about how good it smelled  haha - Todd Oldham - VERY different and all my co-workers used to stay close to me when I had it on lol - its very sexy ANY Givenchy, Dior & Versace - love them - I still have the one I got married in - Hypnotic Poison hehe but am practically out - and love the REAL original Poison - I'm trying to score some on Ebay I miss it so much - and DOLCE & GABBANA 'The One' is the only one I like in their line...close to running out on that too :( AND SEXY SEXY is Jean Paul Gaultier There is more and NEVER let me loose at Sacs Fifth Avenue - their perfume counter is to die for - I always want them ALL and come home with at least 5 different scents on me - this is my favorite place to find NEW perfumes! Then I go for bargains if I can find them lol Anyone else? I'd love to hear what people are into these days - I love me longtime stuff I listed - and found a new one at Belks Dept Store called Fabuloso - (I think that was the name) WOW DO I WANT TO GET SOME - but the price stopped me... Let's hear some replies please! |
After that long post - my real issue these days is pretty simple - Finding a GOOD Wrinkle Cream now that I'm 55... I am using Roc - but there MUST be something better besides straight Retinol which I used to have.... You cannot go in the sun if you use Retinol -I had the highest strength gel - and I plan on being in the sun in ONE MONTH or ......keep dreaming I can keep my perfume supply where I want it  |
I only have two that I mainly wear, Chanel #5 and La Air De Temps. La Air smells kinda of floral. |

My Chanel is named after Coco Chanel :)- I like the Coco version too but No. 5 is a classic |
I like citrus scents. My all time favs (not in any particular order) are Prescriptive Calyx, Issey Miyaki (green one), Elizabeth Arden Green Tea, Ralph Lauren Romance & Gucci Envy. I don't wear perfume anymore, it's too strong & makes the fur butts sneeze loll! So I just stick to the Bath & Body lotions...of course the invigorating citrus scents.:p |
I love chanel coco mademoiselle , Dkny woman, Chloe , viva la juicy and Jimmy Choo. I just bought some Just Cavalai . I always have to have a selection of perfume. It would easier to say what I don't like. Lol |
I wear Dior Addict Eau Fraîche. I like that it's clean & fresh smelling...bergamot grapefruity with some fresh floral notes, a touch of woody warmness & light musk. It's a summery scent, but I wear it in winter as well ;) A lot of people tell me that the scent is very "me". So I've stuck with Dior Addict as my steady go-to. In the summer, I wear Acqua di Parma a lot. The classic one...Colonia...in the yellow box. It's a men's cologne!! Lol... But it feels right at barbeques & functions that are casual like that. I also like the Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo Bergamotto di Calabria. I really like the BVLGARI Eau Parfumee Green Tea...I'm not sophisticated enough to pull off their other fragrances ;) The White Tea is nice too! Quote:
That being said...Peter Thomas Roth makes a product called "Retinol Fusion". It contains 1.5% retinol & supposedly has minimal irritation. The "Retinol Fusion PM Night Serum" (with the black label) gets rave reviews. I've been meaning to try it out. They have it on Amazon for $45. It's $65 everywhere else. That Amazon "Buy with One-Click" thing is waaay too dangerous!!! :p |
The only perfume I can wear that works with my body chemisry is Obsession by Calvin Klein. I have worn this for 30 + yrs. I would be in deep Doo Doo if they ever stopped selling it. |
I just got Donna Karan Cashmere Mist for Christmas and really love that! But for casual times I love Clinique Happy, or some Bath and Body Works Sensual Amber |
I have been wearing Sung by Alfred Sung for 23 years. I also like Flower Bomb by Viktor and Rolf. I received a bottle as a gift from the very first couple I attempted a surrogacy with and I love it. I occasionally wear Romance by Ralph Lauren, but it's very light. |
I love Jo Malone (Nutmet and Ginger) but every time I wear it my husband has a sneezing fit. Now I just don't wear any perfume. |
I love Angel but it's too pricey for my budget. |
Obsession, Chloe, Chanel No. 5 and Poeme are what I wear now that I can't spend wild money on perfume. |
Dior.. |
I get lots of compliments on Trish McEvoy 9 - Blackberry & Vanilla musk. |
I like Jovan Musk. Everyone loves it on me. My sons both wear Givenchy. My older son wears Play Intense and my younger son wears Pi Neo. Both are great scents for men. |
My higher end pricey perfume that I love is Violette Thierry Mugler. Just love it. I wear the Ed Hardy perfume, the original I guess, the one in the tall round cylinder type bottle. Thats more my everyday perfume. Heres a kicker, my In-laws got me perfume from Kohls called Precious, it's a 'generic' of Vera Wang's Princess. I get compliments on it ALL THE TIME! LOL I have a lot of random perfumes and I hardly ever wear perfume at all. I have one kind from France that is so light and delicate, its pretty. Another from the perfume factory in Bermuda that is citrusy. I love very light clean scents, not floral, citrus and vanilla type scents. |
Love Vera wang princess , happy heart, light blue, Lola, dkny fresh blossom is my current fave. Also red delicious , be delicious flower bomb , luv the florals and stuff with apple and citrus notes. Especially escada is a nice fragrance I've been putting on before bed. Yeah I'm odd. |
- I LOVE smelling Angel by Thierry Mugler on other people, but I can't tolerate wearing it on myself, which is odd to me - Love anything w/ tones of vanilla, powder, amber, ylang ylang - Best man perfume: Man by John Paul Gaultier - I have to wear very soft/easy perfumes on myself bc I'm really sensitive to strong perfumes, so I wear Comptoir Sud Pacifique (in Vanille, Coco Vanille, Abricot, ete), Pink Sugar, and True Religion. |
I used to us Oscar de la Renta all the time and got many comments, but I got tired of the scent (as well as it was my x's fav) so I haven't worn it for a number of years now. Very Irresistible and Hot Couture from Givency are presently two of my fav's. As well I use Obsession by Calvin Klein and Be Delicious from DKNY (smells like green apples). The odd time I use Amarige from Givency. From time to time I like to smell Shalimar, as my mom used to wear that for years and years. |
I have a signature scent that everyone knows me by...and anytime I meet new people they ask me what it is. It's Tuca Tuca by LUSH. I remember the first time I sniffed it in the store I hated it, but I tried some of the solid perfume on the ends of my hair and the scent really grew on me. It mixes amazingly with my body chemistry. The scent is described as vanilla, violet, ylang ylang, and vertivert and sandalwood. Idk what all those weird notes smell like individually but basically its very intensely floral yet spicy scent, and a little bit sweet too. I love it. |
OMGosh, I am a perfume addict! Here’s my current arsenal…. Jean Patou – Joy Coco Chanel Boucheron Jimmy Choo Prada Chloe’ Bottega Veneta Armani – Acqua di Gioia Essey Miyake – L’Eau D’ Issey Jessica McClintock Paul Sebastian – Design Burberry Body Nine West Sarah Jessica Parker – Lovely Clinique – Aromatics Elixir Estee Lauder – Pleasures |
YIKES!!! Sorry for the looong post! I was trying to take the formatting out and it took too long! |
My favorite for many years is Estee Lauders...Estee and pleasures |
Working in a factory in Maintenance is not really a "perfume" world, and sometimes it is difficult to find something that "fits" with a hard hat and a tool belt. I like Lucky You and also Tommy Girl for work....... Chanel is prolly one that I like when I am not working.... which is not very often. ...... now that wrinkle cream is definitely something I could use some advice with!! I love the original Oil of Olay smell!!! Haven't found anything I like the smell of better (and believe me, I have spent the bucks looking). I also have issues with my skin being sensitive!!! |

I'm loving this perfume thread and like so many of the perfumes mentioned - I got my first bottle at 10 years old from my uncle and thought I was the BOMB. Someone mentioned Shalimar, that was my moms only perfume and I now wear it when I get really down.....that scent is a cherished memory of my mom growing up.... I guess I could put what I don't wear easier in here lol - I see lots of you are like me and Must have a variety :) |

and LOL to S&S - There HAS to be a hardhat perfume out there - I'm thinking the original Blvgari I wear would do it - subtle, lasting and YUMMY!!! PS - Jovan MUSK is something I have worn since a kid and still wear it - brings back sooooo many memories and smells so good! |

Ann - have you ever tried the John Paul Gaultier for women - the bottle is a womans body - I LOVE it and mentioned it but I am out :( |
