On YorkieTalk today, my Norton Security keeps giving me a Warning!
 

No less than 8 or 10 times this morning, my Norton Internet Security keeps giving me a warning that a certain file trying to download or has downloaded from this site and the origins of the downloaded file are unknown. To my knowledge, I haven't downloaded anything so I'm assuming it's a tracking cookie but I keep getting this warning on this site. I've run a virus scan and it was okay with only tracking cookies found.

Is anyone else getting any notice like this?

I have Norton Security and I am not getting this message:confused: They are the best in my opinion and warn me about so many problems I could get into. I have the middle level of coverage and you may have top but even then, I'm sure they would see the need to let me know. I don't know what is could be.

I'm sure any of us could post a link that seems legit and not know that it is not or like they said never heard of it to check on it.. I would call them.

Have you tried running your malware/spyware?

I buy the Norton Internet Security package which is not the highest security they sell - which is the one that includes the cloud or something extra I don't need but is a higher level than just the regular antivirus/firewall as I understand it. My routine Norton Antivirus trial I renewed a few years back didn't keep me from getting a shutdown virus once and since that time, I've used only the Internet Security package and been safe on all sites and when I was checking out Pitbull breeding and fighting and such in Ireland and Europe a couple years back, I visited some very strange websites - I'll tell you! Was scared to death I'd get some virus or malware but my Norton kept all safe.

With Internet Security, anytime you download anything, Norton checks out the download and give you a little warning report before the install so you will know if it is safe. This message I was getting this morning is like that - but I wasn't knowingly and voluntarily downloading anything from this site as far as I knew. If the download were dangerous, Norton would quarantine it or notify me of the intrusion attempt but its warning was just saying it can't find anything on this file so it won't let it run after the download took place. But it's only on the YT website that I keep getting the warning of the download and it's listed as a low-level and safe but unknown. But I've never gotten this kind of repetitive warning before and was just wondering if anyone else was seeing it.

I'd rather bang my head into the wall over and over than call Norton but I think I will if I keep getting that odd warning. Thankfully I haven't gotten it since I posted this thread.

Yes, I ran an immediate virus/malware/intrusion scan the instant I saw that and Norton only came up with 11 tracking cookies. IDK, it's just an odd thing that's never happened before and when I google that file name Norton says it Unknown, Google comes up with nothing. If I get the warning again, I'm going to do a print screen and maybe go on the Norton website and search it out, see if anyone else is asking about it.

It looks like Norton automatically created some firewall rules(didn't even know the program could do that but it says it did) and I stopped getting the warning right after that. Guess whatever it was Norton didn't like and it stopped the access. Huh.

I would worry about a virus. Malewarebytes is good and you can run it with your antivirus. Sometimes it catches things your antivirus didn't. Just a suggestion.

I used to have that on my last laptop but that's the one I got the bad virus on that shut me down until my son got a friend to restore it. Still, I might get it again if you think it really won't harm anything.

It's a good backup program to keep your computer clean. So many times it has caught things that my virus protection didn't and cleaned it up. But if you are getting warnings from Norton that keep popping it, it could be a virus. But maybe not. That would be the first thing I would worry about though.

I just Googled it and found out the free version of Malwarebytes doesn't have a real-time scanner so it won't interfere with Norton Internet Security so I'm going to download the free version. The paid version apparently does interfere so I'm going for free. Thanks!

I use malwarebytes as well and find it more useful than any other anti-virus softwares out there. From past experience, the anti virus softwares like Norton didn't pick up some things that malwarebytes (or other anti malware/spyware programs) would catch.

I hope you have important files backed up on a regular basis. You just never know. :)

You will get two weeks of the paid version free too. Maybe put it in safe mode first before you scan it. You are doing your research so that is good. :)

I just got it, installed and ran a scan and it found some FunWare things from a game I had once installed plus a couple other low level things and I deleted them. It was scary - been a while since I've used it and had to physically check those things to delete so until I restarted and the computer came back up, Norton Live Updates ran and Updated successfully and closed, I was scared but all seems to be okay. Hoping between MWB and Norton my laptop is okay. I hate to get any kind of warning that something has just downloaded that I didn't request!

Yes, I back up regularly as I have many, many, many precious photo images and a zillion gigabytes of audio books on my computer I have to protect.
