Keurig??? I am SURE many of you have one of these... but this coffee drinker hasn't quite decided if I want one yet... I love the idea of a freshly brewed cup, but we can go thru 1 or 2 12-cup pots of coffee everyday... Thinking that it may be a huge expense, I have hesitated on getting one..... Anyone ????? |
I can NOT do this! I drink too much coffee! I have had a Hamilton Beach Brew Station since they were first highlighted at the home show many years ago....I LOVE this 12 cup beauty! My favorite thing is there is no "pot" that sits on a hot palte burner....the coffee does not scorch and the first cup taste just as great as the last cup, 4-5 hours later! |
I drink one cup per day. More than that and it will cost you a bundle. If you drink 1-2 pots per day I would definitely invest in a different coffee setup. There are so many terrific coffee stations out there now. |

It's crazy, but I want one!! I don't drink coffee at all; it makes me sleepy. I just think they're so cool! My roommate in college had one and I've been smitten with the Keurig ever since. It was just so impressive. I wish they made it for something I actually consume. I'm not a tea, soda, or pretty much anything flavored drinker either. I have no reason to buy one. Maybe I'll buy one for my mom, an occasional coffee drinker as it sounds like a bad idea for coffee lovers based on the reviews above. |
Love my keurig. But we limit its use, as we drink one cup each at least a day. So we do the French Pot mainly. Only if we are running late, or want the occasional afternoon cup of coffee do we use it. For true espresso lovers - the nespresso makes a better cup. There is no true crema with the Keurig at least not that I have found. |
I have the Keurig My K Cup which is a refillable, reusable filter that you can fill with your own coffee. I have extra filter baskets for the K Cup so I just put the used one in the dishwasher and use a clean one every day. I save the flavored K Cups as a nice treat when I need to pamper myself. I get my filters from Bed Bath & Beyond so I can use my 20% off coupon. :) |
I love mine. But, if you drink that much coffee, it will be pricey. |

Even on just about 6 cups per day for us, this works out relatively expensive, cheaper if you buy the pods in (big) bulk, but still very pricey per cup :) Sally x |
Love my keurig |

OMG get one! I love mine and have had it for three years and it's still working like a champ. I just make sure to change the filter and clean it and it keeps working beautifully. If it ever broke, i'd get another one. No other coffee maker compares. I love mine. |
Also, if you're worried the coffee itself is too expensive you can buy a little one cup filter for regular coffee. Or go to Cosco or Sam's Club. You can get a huge box k-cup style coffee much cheaper than at the grocery store. |
I also in a huge fan of my Keurig, in fact that is the only way I can make coffee that is drinkable (I either brew to strong or I get grounds in the pot). I also have a My K Cup so I can use my own coffee and during the holidays when we have guest I get the big box of k cups at Costco. |

I just put mine in the closet, and pulled out my old Mr Coffee. For tons of reasons it did not work for me. I have the single cup kind. I will give you examples 1. I add a creamer that is sweet, or sometimes milk and stevia, but I don't like it to sweet and often I do not get it exactly right, so with the pot I would be able to add a little more coffee to make my cup less sweet. Not possible with the One cup machine. 2. I found that I was hanging around my kitchen longer than normal waiting to finish that half or third of a cup so I could make a new cup. Normally I would have topped off the coffee and headed up to my office 3 I like a large cup and even on the setting that allows for the most water it would not really result in a large cup. Overfilling it would often result in water pooling out of the bottom of the unit. 4 I drink decaf which limits where you can buy it, it is more expensive and forget about finding flavors. 5. I bought the four pack of fillable cups that they sell at Joanns' they did not let enough water through, so my husband drilled a few holes in them, still did not work that great. I will say I did drink less each morning, since often I would not want to bother making a second or third cup 6. I bought the fillable cup sold at Kohls for the machine, that worked for a while, and now regardless if I use the prepackaged coffee cups or the refillable one it sporadically only fills the cup half way. 7. If you want just a scooosh more from your already used coffee pod it is a challenge. If you only add a little bit of water to the machine, it seems not to sense it so it will not run through, you have to almost completely fill it to just get a little extra coffee. So I would add a bunch of water, stand there with my cup to get the little extra, then have a second cup ready to catch the rest of the light collared brown water It really became comical and a big waste of time each morning with me trying to think about ways to out smart the machine because I wanted to add a little more to my current cup or get a big cup. So I finally gave up and went back to my old coffee maker. I think that this machine would work best for someone that drank just one medium size cup, drank it black and never tried to top off their current cup. |
Has anyone ever forgotten to put their cup under the machine after turning it on. LOL I did that several times and what a freaking mess that is, especially early in the morning when you are not fully awake and the dog is in a hurry to go out. |

Don't think I've ever done that yet. lol But I can see how it would be a mess. |
I knew I could count on my Yt friends with this one!!! I think I may consider a bunn... Or something without a carafe.. |
I've been wanting to get a Keurig for the longest time & almost got the K75 for $110 which includes My K-Cup & 60 K-Cups from Costco for Black Friday. But I read all the mixed reviews from amazon, how it breaks down, Keurig said it only lasts 3 years max, pump problems, not brewing right (only half a cup) etc...didn't get it. They also had some good pointers, like using no water filter & use bottled water instead, cleaning the machine w/vinegar (descaling), something about tweaking the pin that goes in the hole of the My K-cup filter if the coffee is not strong enough. I know what they're talking about bc that happened to me when I used my aunt's keurig, the coffee was not brewing right, guess I needed to pull down the pin or something. If you're going to get one, get it from Costco since they have the best no questions asked return policy. Hope it goes on sale again, that was a really good deal, it's back up to $149 again. |

Still thinking.... But did just see that a new "orchid" color will be available in Feb.... Hmmm that alone is making me want one! Lol |
