Do you remember Mrs. McGillicuddy It was a fun to see how many people you could cram into a vw beetle bug "Come as You Are" parties Washing machines at the laundry mat took a quarter and dryer ten cents Do you remember Tiny Tim and tiptoeing through the tulips? I remember most of the things listed, except for a few of the stores. |
Do you remember rotary phones? Or the lettered area designators in a phone number? Or when the trash guys would carry a large trash can on there backs to RUN up to the house, where your cans were, dump your cans into his then RUN back to the garbage truck. |

Do you remember Mr. Ed…great now I have the song in my head…a horse is a horse of course, of course…. Telephone numbers in New York had two letters and then the numbers…MH 5-5555 the MH would stand for Murray Hill. |
Does anyone remember party line phone numbers. Two families would have the same number and when you picked up the phone and someone was talking there was no way to know when they finished. A good many just listened until they finished:D |

OMG I must be OLD I remember all these things Do you remember when 2 full breeds mated, had pups, they were call mutts NOT designer dogs. Do you remember when a HOE (HO) was a garden and not a woman of the streets Do you remember when you bought a "2nd hand car or a "used car" now it's called "a preowned car. Do you remember when gas was .25 cents and a SET price that did not change day to day. Do you remember for .25 cents you could go to a movie, see 2 full features, 5 cartoons, serials ,,Hope along Casidy or Roy Rodges and still have $ for candy Do you remember when a 4x4 was a piece of wood not a 4 wheel drive SUV. |

Lol!! We ought to do a whole new thread just on crazy old time sayings. I blurt out something to my grand kids and I suddenly turn into MY grandma and they look at me like I'm an alien...lol Then sometimes I just accidentally turn my words around. One day my grandson and I was getting ready to leave the house and to have him help a little I asked him if he would go and " shut and front the lock door" he looked at me like "whaaaat?!" I quickly realized what I had said and instead of back tracking and making it right , shut and lock the front door, I just repeated myself " would you go and shut and front the lock door?!" Can't you understand English !? And we both just died laughing.....that was 3 years ago and he hasn't let me forget it .... |
LOL That's funny! "Onward and upward forever keep the truth" G'ma's saying to me 35-40 years ago..... another oldie: Start your day with a BC powder and a Coca Cola! how about: Have a Coke and a smile! |
For northerners... BC powder is like aspirin in powder form... headache powder. comes in a little folded piece of paper...:p |
Oh my goodness, my age is showing for sure... |
