Just an incredible series that got better and better every year. I'm happy it's over though, because they gave it a great ending to finish off such an amazing story. Much better than if they would have tried to drag it on to get every last dollar they could have out of it. To be so consistently good is a hell of an accomplishment by Gilligan and Co. |

can I ask you guys that love BB why do you love it so, I have not seen it, my husband watched a little and told me it was about a really creepy methadone dealer and it did not appeal to him. After hearing all the rave reviews I am sorry I did not watch it. Now thinking about how to rent it, (we do not watch shows on the computer) since there are like no DVD rental places left around here (except for Red Box) |

I realize everyones tastes are different, but I've literally had no one tell me they did not like it after watching it lol. And that's easily 30 ppl I got hooked! haha. They need to pay me royalties :p I love the just... realness to it. The characters are just like everyday ppl that you and I probably have come across or know. Middle class Americans struggling. Not really in the happiest marriage, but they've stuck through it. A teenage disabled son, with a new baby on the way. Then in the midst of this mid-life crisis, you get diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. Your brother in law is a DEA agent and takes you for a ride along and you see how much money he busts out from this meth lab. He's desperate, and dying, and does not want his family to struggle once he's gone, so he sets out with a goal of making $500,000 (I think?? I can't remmber, maybe it was 50,000) and then it being done. Well once your in that shady world, it's never 'done'. The ride just spirals from there. And it is quite dark but it's also got comedic moments I just love. Initially, brother in law Hank brings some of these, then you meet shady lawyer Saul who is just GREAT... and some of Jesse's burnout friends are hilarious. But it's not just a typical 'drug show'. It's really about human beings and getting into their psyche. What would make someone 'break bad'? Walt and Jesse are such an odd couple. I love it. It's really hard to explain. When you explain the plot, a lot of ppl think they won't like it. Just try it! I would mail you my DVDs but someone else is borrowing them lol. I would buy the first season, it's only 7 eps, you can find it in kmart, or Target, etc... or sign up for Netflix, it's free the first month and only 7.99 thereafter. If you have a new bluray player or a Wii or Xbox or something, you can connect to your TV on the netflix account that way too. Quote:

You might be surprised with Jesse. :) Did you watch the first 2 eps or did you just randomly start somewhere in the middle? |
Also FUN LITTLE FACTOID:) My foundation is hosting a Golf Tourn and Poker tourn in a few weeks and Steve Gomez , real name Steven Michael Quezada is coming and Skinny Pete just called us personally today!!! I was so shocked. We emailed his agent to ask if he would attend and he personally called us and told us how great he thought the cause was, and he was so heartbroken to tell us he could not make it, but he's on a new show called The Blacklist and he just tried to rearrange his schedule but he couldn't... but wow he was so nice and so not like his character on the show which is hilarious! |
Interesting. Just saw this. The last ep was called 'Felina' and I thought it was simply because it means finale or something in another language, so I read lol. But Fe-Li-Na equals Iron-Lithium-Sodium on the periodic table or Blood, Meth, Tears. Hmmm. Another thing I love about the show: if you're really smart or really pay attention, the creator does a LOT of foreshadowing in episodes. Things you pick up on if you go back and watch it again. Almost everything he does is for a reason... |

There are so many more scenes way better than this one, but I don't want to post any kind of spoilers. |

I just feel sorry for the guy. I mean he got cancer and he doesn't even smoke! The company he founded is now worth billions while he struggles to pay the bills! Just seems like everything is against him. And he does it all for his family and now even his wife is just waiting for him to die? I mean come on! How much can a guy take? |

I am currently watching the ep where Mike quits and Jesse wants out also, and now Walt is trying to recruit Todd. I am guessing that Todd and his uncle are going to be the new villains? Do any of you guys see any of the characters as not evil, bad, or corrupt in some way? Of course I"m not talking about Jr or the baby. ;) Pretty much all the characters are "bad". Like Brit said (I think?) what would it take for you to break bad? I guess I sympathize with the characters, I've been there myself! Well not cooking meth, but you know what I mean. |

Yikes! Sorry, BB Fans. Woke up this morning and was thinking about my post here last night and thought: what was I thinking???? Was having a bad day myself yesterday, so much had gone wrong and had a raging headache last night, was very hungry when I looked in on this thread and just posted away dissing your show. Shouldn't have done it! This is a thread for BB fans who are into and enjoy the BB show and I shouldn't have even posted here. Feel like an idiot this morning. Ya'll enjoy your show and your discussion. I love the enthusiasm of people for their particular show and love reading about the various the meanings they take from it. Sorry for my bummer post on your thread - won't happen again. |

thanks for all the feedback, not sure if I would like the show but I am curious so I want to give it a try. I guess I am a lightweight, my idea of a good cop show is blue bloods and Castle:D I will look into netflicks, hopefully they still mail out DVD's, we are a bit challenged when it comes to things like hooking up our computer into our TV. I do miss blockbuster it made things easy for us, but thankfully with have the DVR from Comcast. |

That said, the writers played with our emotions in such a way that they had all watching rooting for a man 99% of the time, we of course knew was doing the wrong thing. He did love Jesse though. 'He did it for his family' will be explained at the end and I won't ruin it for those that haven't seen it yet. |
