I am a registered nurse. I am certified on Orthopedics and Developmental disabilities. I am officially back in school to get my FNP/DNP. |
I was an Executive Assistant with a medical device industry. I worked in thoracolumbar and orthopeadics divisions. I enjoyed my job because I believed in the products and the people we helped world wide. I left due to my disabilities. I miss my job and my old peers on some days. But, now I have the cutest little furbutt to keep me company and I wouldn't want it any other way. :) |

I'm maybe not 100% proud of where I am at in life right this second, but I am only 21 and know this isn't all life has in store for me! I was putting myself through school to be an elementary school music teacher, with no help from my family, but that didn't really work out. I took some time to work a lot and now I am going back to school in just a few weeks for a vet tech degree! So I'll be a full time student while also working 3 jobs: groomer assistant/receptionist (I'll probably have to quit after school starts), humane society animal care tech (basically same thing as a vet tech without the degree) and I work for Subway. Yes, I know...subway. two yrs ago it started as making sandwiches part time and now I've moved up quite a bit. I recently got a huge promotion, doing catering coordination and deliveries for all events at Texas A&M, running to the bank, filling out paperwork, inventory, scheduling product deliveries, making schedules, disciplinary writeups, and maintaining productivity goals in 3 stores in my area. I get bonuses if my 3 stores have the best productivity in town. I got a little office in the main offices building, which is right across the street from my apartment, and they even said I can bring one of the dogs with me once in a while (sadly not both though) so it's great because I can drive across the street and check on the girls throughout the day. I'm really excited about it even though it's kind of an embarassing job when everyone else in this thread has these legitimate careers and degrees, but for my age I think I'm doing well, and I mostly wanted this position for the manager experience plus getting the health benefits doesn't hurt either. |

Girlie! Don't be embarrassed! That is AMAZING about your promotion!! Congratulations! I've worked at Arby's before and was promoted to manager, but being pregnant made me have to quit. It was great to have fast food and management on a resume. means you can deal with all sorts of people!! I'm only 23 and have worked my fair share of fast food and retail. I honestly loved it and would go back in a heartbeat! Again, congrats!! Be proud and go get em'!! |
That is wonderfull for only 21yrs old. Never be embarrassed to do what-ever it is you well! |

I help my husband with his business (he works on agricultural and power unit motors) mostly I do billing, pay bills, answer phones and schedule the work. I quilt, scrapbook and take care of our 3 fur babies. |
I was a medical assistant for almost 10 years, then my DH decided to buy a oil change shop (guess who got to run the entire operation) Yes this girl! WTH!! I couldve killed him. He's a plumbing contractor and couldn't leave his job due to the income we would've lost so, yeah I now know how to change oil, filters, trans fluid, ect. ect. I also did the books and managed the 8 employees we had. (I hated that job!) and boy did my DH hear about it! we sold the business 2 years later and now I am a Fuels Dispatcher at TAFB. We are responsible for keeping all the air craft on base as well as any else that needs fuel full and ready to go. Its a highly stressful job, but the pay is good, and I only have to work 2 days a week! |
