I've mostly worked in shops - supermarkets in the 80's & 90's then a few butcher/delicatessen shops. Then in 2005 I started work in a newsagent/post office which suited me down to the ground as I love to read magazines AND write to loads of penpals so use the postal service a lot :D Also, in 1994, spent six months working as a gardener which I really enjoyed  Now working part-time, 21.5 hours per week over 4 days, in a smaller newsagent/post office and really looking forward to finally having time to devote to my dog :) |

We have a lot of teachers and nurses. That's cool :) I have a degree and worked in IT for 6 years as a database programmer/analyst. Then, life circumstances brought me back home from Maryland (where I worked for the IRS). Then, the recession hit... I somehow ended up working as a Dispatcher with a car-haul trucking company. I've been here 3 years this week. I'm a Fleet Manager now. I used to adore my job and I still love most aspects of it. However, the man that hired me died a couple of years ago and last year they brought in a new manager over our region. I hear rumors he is gone after August and I can only pray that is true. This man is someone who makes everyone's life miserable. I have never encountered someone like him in all my 44 years. He seriously just has a dark spot where the heart goes and it's sad. He has made several drivers leave out of frustration and the only reason I didn't leave a year ago is because I had just moved into my house...which I love love love. I've managed, thru prayer, to deal with this man. But boy...I sure hope he is really out of here next month. I would love to love my job again. :) |

I'm in e-commerce. Little did I know that volunteering in 2001 to do some online work to support our troops overseas would enable me to develop essential skills to build and maintain my site. Before that, I was in marketing & broadcasting with a Major League Baseball team. |
Wow what type of profession do you have? LOL I have to chuckle because what I do now, is so separate in many ways from what I did before. I am a teacher of yoga now. I am self employed. My passion is dogs too. And yes I breed them, but they are not my economic business. In fact my business funds or fuels my breeding. Prior to this, I was an educator in a private school for Massage Therapy. Prior to this, I was Controller of an R+D organization. Prior to this I worked many jobs, to get through school. |

Bike mechanic by way of fashion design lol |
I am a retired teacher and taught special education the whole time. Next, I took a job with CASA (nonprofit) as a volunteer coordinator. However, right now I am taking a break from earning money. Lol. |
In Denver I was a self employed interior decorator & fitness instructor. With decorating I helped over 1000 clients enjoy their homes & my fitness career led to a lot of time spent teaching at resorts in Jamaica & a top North American fitness spa. My biggest goal in life was achieved when I was able to retire at 50. Now every day's a vacation in Las Vegas! |
CCU/ ICU Registered Nurse |
Psychiatry. Work with adults, but specialize in mentally ill children treatment. Not too many child psychiatric folks around. Have my own practice with two offices, one of which is rural. |
I am a kindergarten teacher. I am starting my 2nd year this fall. I work in an all kindergarten school, with almost 600 kinders :) Love it! |
I'm a transit operator for the biggest transit authority in Canada....fourth largest in North America. Taking a grooming course, plans are to open a mobile grooming operation by this time next year. Business name already registered...before this I was a hairstylist, legal assistant, hairstylist instructor, school bus driver....basically jack of all trades. |

Oh my, that sounds like the sweetest job ever! Do you get to see the kids at all once they move on to 1st grade? If it's all kindergarteners, I feel like I'd miss them when they move on! |

very interesting group of careers. In spite of a degree in criminal justice I have spent a good 30 years working in sales, first for Corning Glass who transferred me all around until I wound up in MI and met my husband, and could no longer move around. I even picked out my first dog breed, a yorkie based on the size I could take on an airplane. He used to go with me on many of my sales trips. Fast forward a bunch of years later and I moved into Industrial Filter sales, I left the filter company I worked for about 3 years ago and started my own little independent sales agency selling for 5 different filter companies, many of my customers followed me. I mostly sell to distributors who make the sales calls to the factories. So my business has now developed into emails and phone calls, I rarely have to make a call in person. It is so nice not to have to go to an office or deal with a boss. |
Retired ER LPN. I loved my job and miss it. |

We need good very good groomers in Toronto area. But you should know show grooming a BRT is all scissoring, except for the tuxedo front, and box on the cranium, and shaving underneath the tail down to 2 inches above the hock joint. They are very large dogs. I think you know if you have visited my photos. |
Well I have a degree in floral design and wedding consulting did that for 4 years till I decided I really dislike brides :p So somehow I ended up in the mortgage world... Did title insurance, property appraisal, VA and FHA insured loans and now I am in the government loan retention field. I am also a licensed Fl insurance adjuster along with my husband who owns his own roofing company. |
Well we sure do have a vast variety of professions here at YT. So happy to be just a small part of a great group of people!!! |
