LOL!!! I also am a yard sale queen, bargain hunter etc....and I have been known to do a little dumpster diving myself :D Hey, on occasion you can find some great stuff on the curb!! :p

Or how about the " christmas Theme sweatshirts" Can only wear them at Xmas,, and they are usually too big or too tight,,and always a little to BRIGHT or FLASHY for me.. not a big fan of Theme or Cartoon Character clothing!

Ssshhh....cause this is a secret....and it must be genetic....BECAUSE I admit to pawing through stuff on the curb. When I do it, I have to chuckle to myself and think grandma looking down on me and SMILING.

Another disclaimer....I am a much more discerning junk digger than grandma was ;)

Instead of exchanging gifts with the entire family, we play a game. Each person is supposed to bring a nice $20 gift. Well I always end up with something stupid, even though I bring a gift that is always more than $20. The last few years we have played this game I have recieved an extension cord, 4 pack of duck tape, and a hose. Thanks, but no thanks!

Just happend to think of what we (as kids) considered Grandma's greatest find....it was an abstract painting....in pinks, purples, and blues....in the center of this particular lovely...was a huge, giant p-nis. I'm not kidding. I don't think Grandma realized it was there, but my brothers and I would look at that thing and laugh our heads off :D

Guess I should've considered my answers longer so I didn't have so many posts....any way....one Christmas gift I received the outside of the box was literally covered in MOLD. Ya think they were savingthat gift for someone special....sure looked like it been around awhile :rolleyes:

Matter of fact, when my grandmother moved into a retirement home....my little brother took it. He didn't think anyone else would appreciate it as much as WE did. I have to admit, it was her ulimate "find"....LOL.

LOL !! IS someone trying to tell you that you need to change professions ? Maybe a carpenter ? Yard Girl ? Electrician ? :D :D :D

Sorry to say this - but those are really BAD gifts :D ...almost as bad as a Nose Hair Trimmer lol !! Poor girl - and you're so girly - I can't see you getting a hose for a present !

GOTTA LOVE Grandmas !! That's the cutest story and the art sounds outstanding - I would actually love to see that myself :D

My mother in law every year buys my Husband a real nice very personal gift. I always get a candle holder. She picks them up at discount places and holds on to them untill Christmas. Shes even given me the same one twice. I just throw them out when I get them.

Or how about when you have a yard sale and you have something in it , that someone bought you,,for sale! :eek: I've done that,, BUT~ I've been on the receiving end also..made someone something and went to their yard sale and saw it for sale!! It was this calligraphy poem I wrote ( copied) in a frame with these dried flowers hot glue gunned on it... it was effort.. and I thought it was pretty cool.. then,,not really now, but in their yard sale! HOW DARE THEY!! LOL Hope they at least sold it,, would be really bad if nobody wanted it! :eek: :( ha

Oh, it was outstanding to say the least. And I hadn\'t thought about that picture in years. As kids, we always wondered what the church people, who used to visit her, thought of it :eek:

And you\'re right, we LOVED grandma...
