If you ever do consider LASIK, please research it first. There are dangers that nobody ever mentions including irreversible and severe corneal damage (the flap they make never truly heals and can open years and years later, severe visual acuity deficits over time that can't be corrected, cornea cell death, weakening of the cornea, etc.). Yes I agree, research and then research some more!

My Dr went over everything with me, what “ could” happen type stuff.. Scary, but worth it.

Get new glasses AND contacts. You will most likely need both anyway. My husband did. Then after a few months, you may like this arrangement or you may want to stick the the glasses only.

I like the glasses :) Then again, I wear glasses every day and am not a fan of contacts. But really, the glasses look super cute on you.

I think as long as you find a good doctor, LASIK is pretty safe these days. I had it done in 2001, when it was new & still expensive. 12 years later, I still have 20/20 vision. In fact, LASIK corrected the astigmatism in my right eye. Since I've gotten older, I find that my eyes take more time to focus from things like my iPhone/a book to the TV. But that happens with age. It wasn't caused by my LASIK surgery. With the popularity of LASIK rivalling Starbucks these days, there are so many doctors who probably shouldn't be performing the surgery. As with everything else in life, the key is to research & be prepared.

I can honestly say that it's the best money I've ever spent on anything in my entire life. It totally changed my whole world.

I had never heard this. Eeek! My cousin is an opthamologist and had it done years ago. So far doing well. I can't do it because there is no way I could be awake for it. I can't even apply eyeliner without twitching wildly, lol.

I would go with both if you can afford it. Maybe get contacts and just new frames? You look pretty either way. You have beautiful eyes that glasses don't hide.

I tried Valium once for flying and it didn't do anything for me. :eek: I would need full anesthesia. :p

Went today and got glasses. I got fed up this morning. Contacts are so difficult for me to put in. I am too impatient to deal with it. I have unlimited patience except when it comes to getting ready to go somewhere, especially when I can't see anything. I like the convenience of grab and go with glasses. Plus, I saved money :P

Congratulations on your new glasses. I'm impatient too when it comes to contacts. Always envied people who could pop them in on the first try and never needed a mirror. Mine always collapse on my finger and it takes 20 attempts before success.

Oh yay! I actually like glasses...now that I'm not forced to wear them all the time. Glasses are way easier than contacts. Plus, I think you look cute in those glasses in your pic ;)
