Do people not look at the dates on threads before responding?????

I'm seeing a lot of 3, 4 and even 5 year old threads being responded to....

I can't speak for anyone else, but sometimes I just forget to look.

I think a lot of the time its a new member reading the threads and not checking the dates....I have seen a lot of old threads being revived lately as well....that's the only thing I can think of.

I forget to look too. When I find out its old I'm like well duh! Sometimes I look at the last few posts and not the entire thread. That's what causes the issue for me.

+1 It looks to me as if they were researching something about Yorkies on the internet and found a thread in Yorkietalk on the subject. They sign up and comment on the old thread instead of starting a new topic. That revives the thread, and others chime in not realizing it was old.

I've come across these "zombie" threads and sometimes I see a post by someone that I haven't seen around here in ages. For a moment I think, "hey, they're back!" Then I look at the date and realize it's just a zombie thread.

I agree. One time I revived an older thread on purpose, because I didn't want to reinvent the wheel, but in my revival note, I specified that I knew it was old but I wanted to comment on it.

I just saw the thread you are probably talking about. That photo does look a lot like yorkiemom1984's pup.

I fail to see why this bothers you... Were you fooled into reading the old posts all over again? We have, my self included, many new members looking for and sharing info. Some of us are living, for the first time, the experiences that some other members have experieneced many times before. Resurrecting old topics sheds light on topics many members have questions about.

I am a pretty new member and when researching some thing find old threads. I love to read them and sometimes wonder what the outcome! I don't think it is something to get upset about.....just my opinion! :)

if you're talking about me saying that puppy looks a lot like Yorkiemommies pup; well, it does. And the thread had been commented on by someone else, so it was on the first page. I happened to look and thought it was a funny coincidence. Anyway, I see no harm in it.

Sometimes the thread is old, but the information is still good. I think this usually happens when a member is doing a search on a certain topic and old thread invariable come up. I love it when new members are doing searches; we have lots of great old threads!

I am very bad about not looking at the date on the thread, and then getting all involved, only to realize it is 6 years old....most people on here have been very patient with us that do that, gently pointing out it is an old thread! This senior, computer illeterate, lo tech person appreciates it!

I think McheleM is talking about 1 person that is new to YT that revived a bunch of old threads yesterday/ last night...

Exactly, how do you know that they were OLD THREADS without reading them? Did MicheleM remember them by heart or did she started reading them thinking it was a NEW legnthy discussion? Either way I failed to see why the OP would be upset about it.
