I don't know if you could possibly figure out your color or go to a Sephora store this weekend, but this might be worth it to try for this price. There is free shipping this weekend. maracuja miracle foundation 12-hour foundation broad spectrum SPF 15 sunscreen - tarte cosmetics |
Oh, I might mention I can find the Workout makeup on EBay. But they want $50 - $70 a tube!! It was like $22 originally!! |

I, like you, have a fair complextion and have always used Clinique and Lauder products. And, like you, I'm also on the (agonizing) hunt for a new foundation; spending $40-$50 on each of my new test runs. After trying Clinique, Lancombe, Lauder... so far I ended up loving the Lauder foundations best. I've found the Lauder "Double Wear Stay In Place" foundation is great! It's non-oily, lasts all day, has a decent, natural-looking coverage (no looking like you're 'plastered'). It also has an SPF10. That being said, I've still spent lots of extra $$ going through their various shades trying to find the perfect one. Gah! Anyway, good luck in your search - I just wanted to chime in with a recommendation for Estee Lauder's Double Wear Stay In Place foundation. I hope you find something that you love ... and that it stays around for awhile! :) |

Maybe if you purchase the Workout makeup on eBay, you can justify the cost. I know that when I shopped around and tried tons of new products (that didn't quite cut it), I spent (wasted) WAY more $ than if I'd just bit the bullet and spent the outrageous, inflated cost on the item I actually loved. Just sayin'. I know, not great... but something to think about. |
I love love LOVE Laura Mercier silk creme foundation. Full coverage. Lasts ages and makes you stay matte. Alternately, I like Revlon colorstay for drugstore. |
I only wear Bare Minerals myself because of how picky my skin is and I want something that will cover and hid my freckles on my face which I must say is a huge job :p |

As far a foundations go... Estee Lauder Double Wear is my favorite. I've been using that for years. I use the liquid mostly. In the summer, I use the powder foundation a lot. I would def try Estee Lauder. The counter at Bloomie's will give you a small sample in your shade good for about a week, so you can test it out. They have REALLY good promotions too ;) |
Rhonda, I just hate it when something gets discontinued that I love. I have splotty red colored skin, that is dry, and have been using Olay tinted moisturizer for about 5 years. (for me, fair/medium) I actually buy it at Krogers and it costs $23.00. It works amazingly for me and I really think the vitamin e in the stuff is slowing down the aging look. Not sure that would work for you, but just wanted to throw in my 2 cents. :) |
For 20 years, I've been using Aveda Dual Powder - it's a powder that can be used dry or wet (I use it dry) - the coverage is just beautiful, natural, and I'd call it medium (but good!) coverage. |

Not one single tube hidden anywhere in the depths of darkest Surrey - sorry! Next time I go into London, I'll have a bit of a poke around there too - in the meantime, I hope you find something that you like....soooo frustrating isn't it?!!? :) Sally x |
I was a loyal Estee Lauder Double Wear fan and it was my "holy grail" foundation, but they had to change the formula due to new regulations regarding spf in cosmetics. Unfortunately the new formula doesn't have the same staying power/feel as the old. I'm still searching for something new, but in the meantime I am using drugstore stuff and sampling high end. For drugstore "matte" finish with all day staying power, the Revlon Colorstay can't be beat but you have to work fast with the blending and it's a little much coverage for me in the Mississippi summer. I've actually got pretty good skin (other than redness on my cheeks), so I've been mostly using an Asian BB Cream (Skin 79 Super+ Blemish Balm in the Pink Label) with concealer (Covergirl+Olay Balm Concealer) for my cheeks. Asian BB creams are totally different than the American varieties and offer more coverage. They are super light in color, but since you're fair skinned it should be good for you. I get it off Amazon. The Tarte foundation has been on my "to try" list so I'm definitely getting that next! |
