I've lost someone who mattered...
 

My good friend Mark died today, he was very special, he was very much like Dustin Hoffman's Rainman character, and he was very special to me.

On Monday we all had heard of the terrible accident by downtown near where I work, pedestrian hit by car in a horrible manner, as the day grew later we were sure it was no one we worked with in our building cuz we would have heard....we were relieved.

Sadly today they came to tell me it was my dear friend Mark. To describe Mark is too complicated but I will share this.

On Friday he came to my office to see me, he made me a boondoggle (which he made me pay for $$$) lol!! He asked me if he was a good boy "Yes Mark you are a good boy" he was a beautiful boy.

I will miss him, I first met him skipping school at the mall downtown in 1981! Then I saw him almost every time I went downtown, then when I worked for the Feds he came in one day, his father worked with me!

Well I've worked downtown for over 15 years now and he has been a constant in my life. Many people at my bldg. thought him a vagrant off his meds, I taught them all a lesson (you know how I am)...gratefully, many people came to KNOW Mark, and care about Mark, and today I saw grown men cry for Mark...he was a beautiful soul, that taught so many so much about life...

I'm so sad that he is gone and to die so tragically.

Please say a prayer for a beautiful soul that I'm sure has already found a special place in heaven...

Some people do not have to live until they are 95 in order to make a difference in our world...it sounds like Mark is one of these people. May he rest in peace.

I am so upset over this event....my son is autistic, not as bad as Rainman, but he is touched by this disability....these souls are so pure of heart....innocents......I am soooo sorry for this young man, who wanted so much to know he "was a good boy".....I can not deal with this tragic event right now....I am so sorry for the loss of this young man from your reality.....I am soooo very sorry for his parents and especially for him....omg......

Mark sounds like he touched many lives with lessons that taught the heart to love! I have a son with Autism.....it has been such a difficult road. He is now 19 years old, lives at home but has a full time job. He struggles daily with social issues and now depression...... It is such a heart rendering disability for all. Bless you for being so kind to Mark! God bless you and his family for this loss of such a beautiful person.

how special is what I was thinking as I read your story of your dear friend. He has touched many lives, yours most of all. I think it speaks volumes about him that you greave his loss.

I hope when my time comes I have someone left that "sees" me like you do/did your wonderful friend. Lynzy you are a prise and a treasure.

im sorry that your dear friend passed away and i will pray for you and his family,
that you all will be comfort by god wrapping his arms around you all and to help
with the pain and sadness you all feel in your broken hearts. i just loss my sweet grandmother last week at the age of 93 and I know the pain y\'all are going thru.
