I'm hoping clerical gets a call not to report to school tomorrow . .otherwise I'm taking a vaca day . . .:thumbup:

I would! Whiteout conditions and possibly 30" of snow with strong winds is not exactly a combination I want to be out in! :eek: Did you know that this Blizzard has a name? They started naming winter storms this year like they do tropical storms & hurricanes. This storm is Blizzard Nemo. Sounds too cute to be this bad of a storm, doesn't it? :)

Snow supposed to start here at noon and be real heavy by early evening. I'm so sick of it.

My biggest problem is my driveway is gravel :(. I have a beautiful big deluxe snowblower from my last house (that had a paved drive) and I can't use it as all it does is suck up & throw the gravel, hard & fast, in every direction. When I came inches from shattering a window, I rolled it to the back of the garage & it's hand shoveling now...how I hate shoveling!

It's a DISNEY Blizzard!! :p Oh, I plan on it, just waiting for them to make the call first, because if they tell us not to report and I had already put in for a vaca day, I'd get charged the vaca day . . .:rolleyes:

Wow! Maybe with all the snow though, you can use it, probably won't get it down to the gravel . . .I'd hate to think of anyone shoveling all that snow!

They are saying my part of CT is between 12 - 15 inches . . .I fall right in the middle of the State . . .Eastern part is supposed to get up to 2 feet! :eek:

Just stepped out to PETCO at break to get dog food and the Stop & Shop over there is already MOBBED . . .:eek: Can't wait to see what the package store is going to be like at lunch time . . .:p

I am never ready, I have to go out now to buy extra dog food and human food, my guys eat out of boredom, when they are stuck in the house..LOL
and like always let the snow begin... they are calling for 6-8 inches for my area, which is not much...

yikes...we are hearing three feet but i never believe it until i look out my window and see it myself. i cannot call into work my boss would tell me to snowshoe ova...:D oh the package store will be much worse im sure :eek::eek: hehe:rolleyes: stay safe and warm....and buzzed hehe.

Not sure how much it's going to effect me here in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, but if it does, I'm ready:)

I hope it doesn't pound you all too bad! It must be tough on those with housebroken dogs that go outside when the snow is feet deep and it's time to go out and potty, get in a simple walk! Keep us posted on what all goes on. For those of us down southwest of you, it's as close as we get to real winter weather - just reading about it and watching newscasts. I don't even have any relatives up north so you all are my only resource.

Is there any way you can raise the carriage on your snowblower? We have a gravel drive also and hubby's first experience (shall I say was not nor will it be good once spring arrives as I saw stones all over the yards - front, back and side and I have a feeling I will be trying to pick those suckers up in the spring - ugh!) however, after that first attempt, he was able to raise the carriage and he has used it now without blowing stones all over the place. You want to leave about an inch of snow - so the drive is clear but you can still get your car in and out. Good luck!

We are supposed to get 1-3 inches - thankfully as we have had enough already this year with the storms that moved in from the north (Canada) and the west - we get the lake effect snow when those storms come in.
