I just heard the guy from The Weather Channel says that after 8:00 p.m. tomorrow and through the night there could be gusts on the coast of up to 100 mph!!! He didn't seem to specify where but he was reporting from Boston so I guess it was included in the area. Imagine being out in that ba a wind let alone biting cold and snow being blown by wind that fast!!! I hope those near the coast will be at the shelters and inland with family or friends and things. Sounds awful. |

Not sure if I should be worried or not!!!! This storm is being compared to the one of 1978 which dumped around 24" of snow and with the wind drifts many areas had over 30". Pictures show cars buried on highways, huge waves crashing on shore, and total devastation. Stay safe everyone and get out your yardsticks to measure this snowfall! |
Have plenty of wood for our wood stove, generator is all set, new batteries in flashlights, plenty of food & water. One problem though is my mom who lives about 1 hr away has none of that and lives all alone. If we loose power she is in real danger. So franticly trying to get her up to our place ASAP. The dogs reaction to this storm should be interesting....especially if we loose power. They've never experienced that before. Also all the snow too....they've only experienced a few inches worth. |

Starting snowing at 3am here, nothing major yet though... lots of people are working from home today though, so traffic was light. It should start ramping up around 10am they said and get progressively worse. I am planning to stay at work until 12 or 1, then head out and work from home the rest of the day also. We are gearing up here for a LONG night and then an even longer day tomorrow with snow blowing, shoveling and clean up! YUCK! |
When I got up at about 5:30 it was snowing here, still is. DBF went to work in New Jersey. I hope he can get out early. Everyone please be safe. |

Started snowing here around 3am and still going strong. Blizzard conditions should begin soon and that is expected to dump 2" of snow per hour. Snow emergency declared in our town. I do not plan to clean up until this is all over around 8am on Saturday (my brother went out 3x and cleared snow but you would never know). We have the fireplace roaring, and I cooked up a couple dishes as there's really not much else to do :D |
it wasnt too bad this morning however they say it will be worse overnight. this is why im moving back to florida. lololol. im on the line between central and coastal maine one is expected to get 18-24 inches the other up to 36 inches. yukky. |
The State of Massachusetts is in State of Emergency.....All traffic was banned on all MA roads after 4 this afternoon......we have about 12 inches of heavy snow right now and it's still comming down heavy.....right now 2 to 3 inches an hour .....they say 18-30 inches before it's over......The wind is blowing 40 to 50 miles an hour......I just hope we don't lose power......the lights have flicker a few times....Stay safe everyone.... |
