Brrrrr 1 Attachment(s) So this is a new one for me...yesterday we had the bfs phone in the car charging...this was the message...I've NEVER seen that before...and this morning it was even colder and they are saying tonight its suppose to be EVEN COLDER YET.....sigh....why do I love living in northern Minnesota :) |
Excuse me!! When mechanical objects refuse to function and shut down because it is tooooo cold, that would be a tipping point for ME!!!!!! Last person out, shut off the lights!!! My largest issue is the GPS in the dashboard takes an extra 10 seconds to light up when the car is started, if the temp is down in the 40's.!!!!! |
That would scare me. When we had the Superbowl in the area in Arlington and it got so cold here in North Texas, it got down to 7 degrees or something and I was kind of scared. I don't know of what - just scared. Maybe that the electricity would go out for a long time or the gas would or I don't know what but I was really apprehensive until we warmed up. Tibbe just loved to go out in that freezing weather and once it snowed, he had to be called sternly to get him in he was enjoying it all so. I was afraid he'd die or something if his body temp dropped, even in his coat. I sure hope you all warm up before long. |
The cold is one of the reasons I've owned arctic breeds...husky and samoyeds...then I fell in love with the yorkie. I feel so bad for my lil peanuts...tonight when I took them out poor ruby was squatting but her feet got cold so quickly she was trying to lift them up n pee at the same time. Both R n R are trained to pee on the indoor potty but the prefer to go outside. :) |

I have some cute boots for them but Rosie freezes and wont move its like she is literally frozen in time and ruby tries to pull them off and then forget going to the bathroom!! :) I figure this summer ill keep trying the boots til they get used to them and we will be ready for next winter!! |
I don't like cold. It is a whole 6 degrees now! This morning walking around campus it was -2. blah. Looking forward to tmw. going up to 25! |
7 degrees is a summer day here! We are currently siting at -15C WITHOUT the windchill....dropping to -19 later on tonight with the winchill at -30...now thats freakin cold!!!! Opened the back door to let the doggies out for an early morning pee...(3am) Orion of course charged out the door...Raelle my daintly lady, got as far as the top step, decided that was far enough...squated right there and came back in. Jersey didn't even bother going out...she decided she would wait til Daddy got up later. The look on Raelle's face was 'mommy don't even start with me, I piddled outside, be satisfied.... Omg I was laughing out loud at that look, had to stop myself from cracking up...didn't want to wake the neighbours..they already think I'm nuts.... Both girls sat in front of the fireplace waiting for me to turn it on, then got quite ticked at me when they realized I was leaving without heating up the room for them. These guys gave me a great start to what turned out to be a lousy day.....chuckled all the way to work...:p |
I wouldn't want to live where it is so cold but I love to read all the war stories of the cold-weather country. My son said when he lived in Minnesota for one winter, it was so cold you couldn't talk outside sometimes after being out only for minutes because the lips got too cold to work properly to form words! I've been in the mountains and in the snow, in Denver during a blizzard and such often and had the lip and talking problem after being out a long time but never been anywhere when it was several degrees minus 0!!! We got down to 0 here one winter years ago. It was awful! The central heat ran almost nonstop night and day. |

It is colder then a . . . . . . I blame Mike for this weather ;) |
Haha we have the opposite issue here phones and iPads give you warning signs they are too hot and need to cool down to work :p |
It was 23 yesterday! Windchill of 11. Today will be 14 and tomorrow 18. YUCK!!!! Hate this weather! |
The Duluth, MN area has cancelled school all week beause it is "too cold." Blazer and Buddy don't seem to be bothered by the cold and in fact seem to want to go outside even MORE lately! UGH! Silly dogs! On the up side, we've made it up to 5 above today already! =D |
I lied it's 8 degrees out with a wind chill of -3. YUCK YUCK YUCK! The bunny got a new home in his indoor cage for the next week or so! I HATE this weather! |

Mid 70's this afternoon. I was on my newly fixed hammock this afternoon life was good...... until both my boys used me as a trampoline. Life with terriers... |
It was so warm here this afternoon I raised a window in the den and enjoyed the breeze coming in. Tibbe's been outside a lot today and kept me busy going out with him. The male Corgi next door and the Chihuahua across the alley were both out a lot and Tibbe was nuts to get out there to play along the fence with them. He and Rusty try to outdo each other peeing up and down the fence over each other. |
Ok Jeanie and yorkiedallas....send some of that weather up north...weather man says we should be excited...suppose to warm up to 10 this weekend! |

-9 right now but it is supposed to warm up to 7 above today. LOL! The cold doesn't bother me too much, I never really have to go anywhere so I just stay inside unless the dogs want out. Even then it isn't for too long. Monday is a projected high of 34! |
Im waiting for Monday Amanda!!! :) its -6 right now and in my town one of the substations started on fire...that means we did not have electricity for about an hour and a half...no electricity...no heat....didn't realize a house could cool down so fast!!!!! |
Ooh, brrr! Everything is all better now, though, right? There have been a few watermain breaks lately because of the cold. One in Coon Rapids just two days ago. Yes, Monday will be a nice one. I'm actually looking forward to getting a carwash then parking in the garage so that my truck stays nice and clean for a while! It is SOOOOO gross right now but I don't want to wash it and have it freeze up. Not that any carwashes are even open right now... |

It's 10 degrees here...can't find out the wind chill but it has to be below zero! The wind is strong, blowing the pine trees swaying so it has to be close to 30 mph winds! Bentley and his Boxer brother, Baxter go out and come back in real quick! Everyone keep warm and bundled!! |
