My favorite old stuff(old to me, haha) Barbies ofcourse, we had a ton! Popples! Loved these, we would play for hours! Carebears Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego, loved that show Micro machines I also LOVED lion king lol I still have my simba stuffed animal from when I was 4, I passed it down to the daycare kids and its in better shape than the other stuffed things, I noticed they don't make them sturdy like they used to. And the movie "Elves and the shoe maker" I watched it on youtube, it was such good memories, lol I'm sure there's stuff I'm not remembering:) So what are yours? |

I loved animal toys. I had a crazy amount of lions, tigers, bears, wolves, cows, zebras, chickens, horses, and so on LOL. Just about any animal you could think of I either had a stuffed or plastic version of the toy. My favorite movies were Disney movies with talking animals like lady and the tramp or lion king. |
God I'm old....We had am radios (thats all there was was a.m.), we rarely played inside so I don't remember a whole lot of toys, rollerskates, bikes, skateboards, football, baseball, iceskating, on rainy days, paper dolls and Barbies, Yahtzee, Pokeno, monopoly, gin rummy and war! We burnt ourselves crisp in the summer and froze our asses off in the winter...but we were always outside. |
As a kid I always had dolls and teddy bears to play with as my favorite toys. After those favorites were a farm set and anything dog-related. I had a lot of toy dog figures of all kinds and especially loved the Lady & the Tramp plastic figures, the little doghouse, etc. . Thought the Lady was so pretty and would sleep with her under my pillow. My father bought me a very expensive collector type Pluto dog one time when I was very, very sick and I played with and carried that thing around with me forever and kept it even until I was a teenager. |
You were 4 years old when Lion King was out??? Geesh, I'm so old! lol My memories usually involve my bicycle and my skates. My favorite Christmas present as a kid was when I was about 9 years old. I wanted a purple bicycle but I wanted "motorcycle handlebars" on it. Somehow, those only came on boy bikes lol. Well, I got one and rode it all the time. My friends and I built a plywood ramp (laid it on something..can't remember what) and I would jump it. It was a blast :) |
I was the only girl, so it was bikes, baseball, frisbees, traipsing through the woods with no concern for snakes, etc., fishing, and war games. In the spring and fall, we also worked on my granddad's 40 acre farm. From planting to harvesting and preserving, we were involved from the time we could walk pretty much. On the VERY rare occasions that we were inside for any reason, we played Uno, Monopoly, backgammon, LEGO, Tinker Toys, Lincoln Logs, and pretty much any card game you could think of. |

i loved lil house on the prairie. |
My sister and I played paper dolls until we were WAY to old to do so! We kept the "folders" that they came in to build them houses and we would make them new clothes all of the time. We loved our Rose Petal dolls, our Strawberry Shortcake dolls, Rainbow Brite, The Wuzzles, and Barbie. We loved rushing home from school to sit in our parents' bedroom and watch The Smurfs, He-Man, Fraggle Rock and more... |
Horse lover from a very young age and collected horse figurines. Still have them all. TV shows were Fury, My Friend Flicka, Sky King, The Roy Rogers Show, The Lone Ranger, Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, Captain Kangaroo, Miss Sherri Lewis and Lamb Chop (the original), Shirley Temple movies, Black Beauty. Dolls were Thumbalina, Chatty Cathy, Barbie and Ken. Smokey the Bear (Only YOU can prevent forest fires). Rocky and Bullwinkle, Popeye the Sailorman, Mighty Mouse, The Mickey Mouse Club, Mr Magoo, The Jimmy Dean Show, The Ed Sullivan Show (The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and so many others) The Red Skelton Show, Bonanza, Westerns and cowboys. I loved to play in a sand box, then bike riding, tomboy and outdoors type kid, skateboards, surfing, water skiing. |

Oh and Pick Up Sticks, and Fizzies |
I was politically incorrect I guess. Btw, i feel old with some of these posts. I remember Santa bringing me a machine gun that made noise. I loved it and my boy cousins thought it was cool. I remember a tape recorder i got, i was always taping music from the radio and tv. My mom has a pic of me dressed up as a cowgirl with a holster, vest and hat. I was not all tomboy though. Santa brought me a doll and my mammaw made clothes for her and a bed was made by someone. |
Barbies were my main thing, we had a street full of girls my age and we played hour after hour on our driveways, patios and in our rooms, planning weddings was always one of the main topics of play. The other two things were stilts and a pogo stick. Not sure what made my Dad think of this but he made me a pair of wooden stilts I got pretty good walking around the neighborhood on them. I also used that pogo stick a lot, wonder if they still make them |
just did a search and there sure are lots of pogo sticks out there guess it's still sort of popular |

In those days, we burned our own trash in 55 gallon barrels. I ended up accidentally burning that old barn (my house) down. I didn't know cow manure smoldered and burned and I thought I was putting out my fire by throwing dirt on it (cow manure). My parents still think it was just wind carrying burning debree that caused it. I never did come clean on it.:cool: (Just to be clear, at the time my dad said..."I've been wanting to get rid of that old barn for quite a while now." They just assumed and never did ask, so I never offered). |

Sled or ice skate in the winter. In summer we played laser tag a lot in the neighborhood, went to the sand pits to play, rode bikes, pogo balls (remember those?), pogo sticks, frog/grasshopper/turtle/firefly catching or fishing (with homemade poles aka - string tied to a stick), building horribly bad tree houses, climbing trees or swimming in our pool. Nights and rainy days I played with Strawberry Shortcake dolls or Barbies or we got to play the Nintendo sometimes, but not often. I always had my walkman on, I have all these old pics of me and I always have my walkman ear phones on! LOL Probably listening to Milli Vanilli, NKOTB, Tiffany, Debbie Gibson or Belinda Carlisle! Roller skates.... I used to go roller skating every saturday for years and years. I loved it! |

LOVED my childhood... lol. I had so many fun things I remember coming out. I collected Pogs for a while and Pokemon cards (never understood the 'game' tho). I loooveeddd my Barbies and accessories, and I loved Polly Pockets. I remember getting the first Gameboy and then when the Gameboy COLOR came out... oh boy that was the best!! Nintendo 64 - Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong, I played for hours!!! Best games ever. Wish I could find the exact game as before but most have been updated etc by now. Remember those jump skip things? It went around your ankle and you skipped/jumped and it counted how many you did! lol ... I used to rollerblade outside with friends forever. Like I'd be out there from 9 am to 8pm in the summer. Pop in for lunch once in a while lol. I did always love my dogs. I would collect toy dogs, and dog breed books! |

We rode bikes, played outside all day. My favorite toy that I still have is my Mrs. Beasley doll. I also loved Barbie and mom taught me how to sew by making clothes for my Barbies. |
