UGG Boot, boy are they messy to wear
 

I bit the bullet and bought the real pair, now I am sorry. I wore them in the house for about a half hours, after I took them off I started seeing puffs of black fur everywhere, took me a while to realize it was from the lining of the boots:mad:. When I felt inside the boot I could feel how much loose fur there was. Then I realized it was stuck all over my socks and the bottom of my pants. I know they say to go barefoot but I liked the feeling with socks better, and my niece said she stopped going barefoot because the fur was getting stuck under her toenails. I can't believe no one mentions that. I asked on my FB page if they were worth the money and everyone that has them thinks they are great, I am pretty sure they will be going back and I am so disappointed.:(

I own 4 pair of Ugg's and none of mine do that, hmm wonder if your is just an faulty pair for some reason.

Wool and many types of natural fibers will go through a natural shedding process, but I would check with the company.

Donna, how are we going to have an UGG wearing knitting party if you send your uggs back? :D

They are sheepskin, so a lil loose fleece may shed initially. You are probably noticing it more because you wore white socks???

They do get much more comfortable with wear.

Thought you'd at least post a pic of you in them! :p Which ones did you get?

Mine don't shed either

I just got a pair for Christmas and I wear them almost every day in the house (have yet to take them outside) and I also admit that mine don't do that either...and that's both with and without socks.

I would definitely exchange them.

I will say that I found my feet stay warmer without socks on while wearing outside BUT look into getting the care kit with the spray to keep them smelling fresh.

I can't wear socks with mine, unless they are REALLY tight socks...I'm talkig cut off your circulation kind, or the wiggle down my feet throughout the day as I walk and end up working their way down my feet & all bunched up at my toes :eek:

i think they might be loose, so socks made them feel better, LOL Karan the socks were black, everything on the box and the boot shows they are the real thing, my sister said in bare feet my niece got all the stuff stuck under her toe nails so her's shed as well, does anyone else have that problem. I posted the pictures straight from my phone on FB

i have them also and have never had that issue call customer service and request an exchange. ps not on ur fb. :)

That is odd... Now I will say that the one black pair I own are the boots that kinda remind you of converse with the plastic toe cover so the lining is different and thinner in them so I have to wear socks but still nothing gets on my socks.
I am on the phone with my best friend right now and asked if she ever had that issue with any of her pairs and she said no too.
Now one thing you said raised a red flag... Everything on the box and all says they are real soo did they maybe come from somewhere that would give you any type of clue that they might be fakes?? I know both me and my best friend have gotten all ours at the Ugg outlet so they are 2nds

Did you maybe get a bootleg pair? Even the best stores can get taken I hear.

#1 does the insides smell dyed? #2 is the tag inside a silver hologram??

I have all the latest security tags on them and on the box, but they do not smell, should they? I will be calling the Ugg company later today to see what's up I am assuming they are real because everthing points to them coming from the UGG Austraila website

I have 2 pairs of Bearpaw boots, similar to Uggs. Ive held out on buying Uggs because a lot of people I know LOVE the Bearpaws more. They are warmer, cushier and more waterproof from what Ive been told. My Bearpaws have never shed. I got a black pair for Christmas and I wore them a bunch of times now and had no shedding at all.

I hope your Uggs get past the initial shedding stage and become less messy to wear!

Oh I forgot to tell you, I compared the phone number I found on line for the REAL UGGS Co and it was the same as my invoice. I do have the real pair and the Customer Service guy could not have been nicer. He found my order and said the shedding di not sound right, he said he would ship me a pair overnight as a replacement, and when I mentioned I wore them with socks because they were larger than any other size 8 shoe or boot I have. He told me they also stretch and recommended I go down in size. I get to send the other ones back and as long as they get them within 30 days there will be no charge for the return shipping. Alisha I took your advice and also ordered the care kit only they are backorderd for a few weeks. So I must say they had GREAT customer service.
I bought them through a web site called EBATES which is a marketing and shopping search site. When I went to make my purchase I was linked to the UGG site, by doing this I wound up with a rebate of about $9.00 on my purchase and a 10 gift card from a retailer of my choice. Not bad it was like getting $19.00 off Uggs which is very hard to do. They have so many business on there like, kohls, Target, Overstock etc that I shop with anyway that I plan in the future to go through Ebates first instead of going directly. I have had a few friends say that they have gotten $50 to $100 rebate checks from them. I am sooo happy to hear you called... Even at their outlets they are great!!! One pair I have had for 5 years still look brand new after rain and mud because of that kit BUT always use the protector spray before wearing outside!! I forgot to warn about going a size down. OH and if you ever get grease like from food say fries go home sprinkle on baby powder let it sit over night then use a soft brush and brush off the area.. Do not try water.

I do plan on spraying them, one of my friends says she does her's each evening for three days in a row before wearing them, in MI we get a lot of slush mixed with salt, since a lot of the parking lots use salt to melt the snow. Salt lines are hard to deal with so I plan on protecting them very well.

I LOVE ebates! I have been using that site for well over 10 years now. Highly recommended.

I for one am sorry to hear this much about Ebates as now I'm going to have to check it out. I've heard of it in the past and managed to stay away but now, I've just got to go shopping!

Did you get the regular bottom ones or snow bottom? I live in Florida and have never even seen snow but I got the snow ones due to rain :p

So glad to hear you were able to get some satisfaction from the Uggs company. When they first came out and Oprah did a segment on her show about them, my mom just had to have them. They were not popular back then and my mom had no idea how to order them online so I had to show her. My mom passed away a few years ago but she loved her Uggs. She really only wore them a few times and fortunately I have the same size foot she does. I have been rockin' mom's black Uggs every winter for the past 6 years and they are phenomenal. They keep my feet warm and dry - I just love them!

what a nice story thanks for sharing it, you can truely say you have walked a mile in your mom's shoes or should I say boots:D I will now think about you and your mom each time I wear those boots.
