I'm fed up with celebrations....!!! I've had too much turkey....too many roasties....far too much Christmas pudding and mince pies.... I don't even like Christmas pud and mince pies - but I have to eat them 'cos it's the Season and because they're there.... I've had to celebrate with champagne when I'd far rather have a glass of red vino....and as for Bucks Fizz - yuck yuck yuck!!! And we've still got New Year to go..... Can't wait for a good old fried egg sandwich...:D x |
And Bah Humbug to you, too! LOL, Sally, me thinks you've had one too many get-togethers and company lately! What with all the rushing around, waiting in line, checking off interminable lists and wrapping, decorating, cooking, picking up last minute things and endless traffic and people everywhere you turn, you get together with a lot of other people who've just been through much the same thing, saying the same phrases over and over, too much eating, snacking, drinking, everyone's tired but needs to be festive - it does get a tad wearing, doesn't it? Well, a few more days, one last party, some football watching gatherings and that's it! By January 2, 2013, we can all start to amp down again. |
You can come to my house for New Years Day . . . . Fried egg sandwiches (yum) for everyone ! |
You can't be calling an end to celebrations until you've popped the bubbly on New Year's Eve! I do however sympathize with you having to choke down mince pies....sorry I just can't do it! Thankfully, my mum makes jam tarts & lemon curd tarts as well as mince pies :) |

New Years is black eye peas and hog jowl here in good ole Arkansas. For Christmas dinner I made egg rolls, crab wontons, and fried rice as we too are sick of ham and turkey. And Sally, what the heck is Bucks Fizz???!! |

Tonight's dinner We are just about to tuck in to a fish supper and a sausage supper. Poor Alfie is being limited to kibble only for the next weeks to see if it helps stop his itching. |

Yes, it's half + half very dry champagne and freshly squeezed orange juice  It sounds ok-ish, but is actually quite thick and sickly....trouble is, wherever you go to 'celebrate', you're offered a glass as you go in, and I feel quite rude not accepting it..... I wonder how many houseplants will keel over and die at houses I've visited, over the next couple of weeks..... :D x |

And I can not even stand the sight or smell of MICE meat pies as I call them. |

Mice meat pies and fruit cakes should be banned... If I ever become President that will be one of the first laws I put into effect!!! |
