Ha! Sent the kids to school we're all still here and the sing-a-long is still scheduled so off to school they go! |
LOL. From Twitter: Thanks a lot #mayans. Now what am I supposed to do with $800K worth of used bottle rockets and 400 bottles of ketchup? guess the #mayans changed their forecast from the end of the world, to a little rain and wind |
Well Houston is still here...ROFL!!! ;) I wonder if the nuts are still in their shelters? I would love to see their faces when they pop their heads out tomorrow and see the world is still here...mean aren't I...:D. Louise and Zachary |
Checking in from Massachusetts we are still here!!!! Stopped raining and the sun is out!!!! |
Well, the poor old Mayans are getting dissed pretty badly on Twitter. And the Doomsday Preppers being laughed off the planet!!! But some of the Tweets are to die for funny! And some of the pictures! LOL! |
I braved it out at the mall today to pick up lotssss of presents...haha. On my way home, I looked up and saw the most BEAUTIFUL rainbow across the sky. So vibrant. Almost opaque. I smiled so so big and knew God was telling me I have a beautiful life still to live. Take that, Mayans! |
All's well in NW Iowa! It was a beautiful day....cool, crisp and sunny! :) |
Question: Did the mayans even predict the end of the world, or did their calendar just end? |
Their calendar just ended. There's no mention about "the end of the world" just the end of that calendar. They had 22 I believe that encompasses millions of years. Just like many other ancient cultures, their long calendars are "ages" (similar to our Age of Pisces and current Age of Aquarius). |
STILL here!! Louise |

Well, about 3:00 this afternoon our power went out for a couple of hours and when it came back on the cable/internet and phone were all out for another hour or two...I didn't panic though, I knew it wasn't doomsday related...it was the weather :) Bad thing was I almost missed my 4:00 coffee but I got creative and put a teapot of water on the stove (it's gas so I lit it by hand) and then ran it through the coffee filter into the pot...then I put it into my big thermos so it would stay hot. Yep, sometimes you have to get creative and yes, I did think about just going out for coffee but it was too cold :cold smil Still here in the frozen Midwest..... |
I heard that they've found other Mayan things referring to later dates than 2012. All this Doomsday stuff was just some scholars' interpretations of what it meant while others poopoo'd all of it. Wonder what the bunker-dwellers are doing right about now and when they will decide it is safe to emerge and go home, pay some bills and buy fresh bread and milk now that tomorrow is coming? |
