LOL. They were probably tired of chiseling out all those calendars they made. One of those specials I tried watching said they had calendars for many heavenly bodies orbits, etc., for eons going back and forward! They figured out that 26,000 years ago when the sun and Milky Way central plane and earth were last all aligned as they will be again for the first time 12-21-12 that the earth underwent huge changes due to Sun activity or something. So they deducted that the next time this all happened, which is this Friday, more than likely something big and likely earth-changing will be happening again. And then they made no more calendars anyone has found. Of course, the Spanish might have taken them - they could be out there! They burned most of the Mayan book, etc., because they were sacrilegious, etc.

Anyway, I'm with you. Likely their tired calendar maker just hung up a "Gone Fishin'" sign, got himself a pole and went to the nearest lake, chewed some "funny" leaves and chilled out, deciding it was time somebody else made a calendar or two! Maybe a "Take This Job And Shove It!" atty got hold of him! Been there myself! ;)

Quite right. No sweat here. Not a doubt in my mind where I'll wind up - just don't know and don't want to know when! I do know the earth won't end Friday!

We're just having fun with pop culture and the media and their hyping of all of this with all of their Apocalypse 2012, Mayan Doomsday and Doomsday Prepper, etc., TV shows and fairly frequent Tweets by the various mainstream media reminding us. Even one of the mags, Time or something recently ran an article on it! Plus, it's kind of fun to think of what you would really do IF somehow we did know the date and what we'd really do the last days here on this old earth before we do go on to our rewards.

Plus, I need to get to 10,000 posts before the end of the year and I thought it might be fun to try to get them in before 12-21-12 - just in case. (Just kidding!) :D

Only 1 away from 10,000! You rock! I saw something funny on facebook today and shared it. It was a poster that said: If you believe the world is going to end on the 21st, please drop off your valuables at my home by the 20th.

Alright, tomorrow is 12-20-2012! What's everybody doing with their "last" full day? :rolleyes: I'm doing boring stuff like going to the drug store, likely getting an oil change for the truck and my fun activity will be buy my son's Christmas presents. Hopefully some good sales by this time. It's taken me a long time to decide what to get for him this year. I think I'm getting him a home theater sound system for his big flatscreen. It's something he'd likely never buy for himself and I enjoy having lots of quality sound so I think that's going to be his "big" present.

It is officially 12/20/12 here now so..I plan on sleeping for the first part of it lol, then going to work for most of it, and then coming home to play with my furbabies most of the night. Eh, I might spend a little time with DH if he's not watching the Military channel. LOL!

Hmm so far so good, granted Hank the next door dog is barking, but other than that nothing exciting. I figure I will go to work act like I am actually paying attention in yet another 4 hour meeting about nothing then leave early to make a 2 hour drive to buy a TV from somebody on Craigslist... Hmm that should be enough excitement for one day if indeed the world goes on :D

Well, live it up tomorrow as Friday is - tada - 12-21-2012 - Doomsday!! I don't know about you all but I have plans Saturday and right now, the Lord willing, they don't include asteroid strike or world-ending volcanic eruptions, etc. We are having a little neighborhood Christmas party Saturday.

Anyway, meet ya'll here Friday to post our brains out watching the Doomsday Preppers on the news start to go underground and hole up before "it" happens!

You should see the wind here in Nor Cal!

Everything in my back yard is turned over-even the wood and metal old school desk where the garden was against the fence...lawn chairs blown from one side of the yard to against the house!

We hardly ever have a lot of wind here in the metroplex but last evening and most of the night the house just creaked at times from the wind howling and howling like mad. Tibbe was very mad at it all and he would jump up and look out the window and grouse if it suddenly hit the house like a fist. Ends a comin'!!! Shop till you drop today and eat all the chocolate you want! Get your hair dyed platinum and grab that most-wanted item off the shelves or racks or out of that jewelry case and charge away. Hahaha.

Newbies here will think we're all a bunch of nuts!!! :D

Still only raining in NJ, we need some snow is Christmas, this is the only DAY I am ok with snow and so far they only calling for Rain, yes, the world in ending, now where are my oreo cookies...LOL
I might be around tomorrow.. if still here...LOL
