This link says that Adam Lanza was the shooter and his brother Adam was wanted for questioning, but was not a suspect. It also said it was the mother who worked at the school, not the child. Apparently with the police, there was a lot of confusion and even as of this moment the police are no longer telling news media the name. One of the officers from that police department talking to CNN now but won't say. I guess there is still some question who is who.

Yeah, I just read the other thread, and the Twitter account of Ryan, he says all his tweets were just jokes, but can you tweet something and put a different date on it? I mean he talks of being really depressed in November. His last tweet says:

But when I read that last tweet the shooter was dead so it can't be him that tweeted that. Maybe someone hacked his account if that Twitter account is his.

Just hearing on CNN that the most of the dead children were in his mom's classroom at school.

Oh how horrible, I can't imagine how those families feel.

I know! I tell you if I had a child in school these days I would be scared to death!!! It's got to be one of the hardest things in the world for parents to drive away from their child's school this coming Monday. I just don't know if I could do it. I'd be so scared there would be a young copycat out there just waiting to strike or something. Terrible times we live in.

This is so sad, and senseless!!! Why!!!!? Connecticut is my home state, and Newtown is such a nice town. This goes to show you that crazy people are everywhere. Hug your children every day. If your children are out on their own, tell them that you love them every time you speak or see them. I don't know how these families will deal with this. I don't think I could.
So sad. :(

I agree, the town does seem so ideal, and if it could happen there, it can happen anywhere. The sad thing is this mother had plenty of resources available, insurance, and lots of alimony, so she could get this boy help, if she understood the seriousness of his ailment. Friends are saying she wanted to handle it by herself, but the last few months, she was clearly worried about him. I wish diseases of the mind didn't have such a horrible social stigma, maybe she would have sought outside help. She knew he had extreme social problems, and I fault her for keeping the guns available to him. Guns shouldn’t be available to everyone, some people lack impulse control.

You always wonder why a parent wouldn't be getting all the help there is for a withdrawn, loner, autistic child. I hadn't heard that she hadn't been getting him help and that she was trying to help him herself! My goodness - if that is true, it's unthinkable in this day and time. That's sad to hear that he wasn't getting professional help and just so hard to understand why not.

I was just watching Dr. Phil on TV and he was talking to the family of a violent son who loses his temper and loses control, has drawn a knife on his mother, stabbed the kitchen counter with it and both his parents stated they were afraid he will kill them one day. Yet his father said that he has a gun collection in a gun safe in his home that requires some type of code entry!!! Needless to say, that father was advised to get rid of that gun collection! Who is to say that son couldn't put a knife to his mother's throat and threaten to kill her if the dad doesn't open that gun safe for him?

The Dr. Phil show will be in Newtown, CT. for tomorrow's show.

Oh wow, what's it going to take for parents to learn? I'm not a gun advocate, but for those who are, there needs to be more done in warning people of the signs and symptoms of depression. Too bad we use the same word for clinical depression and regular depression, but it's not the same disease, clinical has feelings of extreme hopelessness and the world would be better off without you. Also, a kid that feels like a social outcast needs help! Social skills can be taught so that the child feels more accepted. Hearing President Obama read of each child’s name was so horrible, we need to do more!

Im getting so tired of the PC'ness of our government, that is preventing our country from taking care of it's own. I really think it's time USA starts to concentrate inward instead of outward. Time to take care of it's own self, not everyone else. I think there is a big problem with morals and ethics in this country. They are disappearing. We have to get them back else this is just going to get worse & worse.
Many people say exactly what I just said..... but our government turns a deaf ear to the voice of the people it seems. No one represents us good law abiding, hard working citizens.
