job search--waawaaaaaa
 
Had an 2 hour interview on Thursday. Met 2 employees that I would be working closely with. The boss said they liked me...aksed for references...sent him 3 by email that day. The next day on Firday I sent the traditional follow up letter (by email) to thank him for his time and let him know how much I liked the job etc. He emailed me back that they were also interested in me and that he would call me over the weekend. So the weekend is here and no call.

What do I read in to this? has this happened to anyone else...any ideas?

Wait a few more days. I've never had a job offer come in on a weekend. Good luck to you.

The guy probably got waylaid by weekend family things & was hanging Christmas lights, things like that, and just forgot.

I know waiting is the hardest part. I agree he most likely got busy on the weekend. Give it a few more days. Good luck. Fingers and paws crossed for you

I know the person said they would call by the weekend, but maybe something happened. Maybe someone who needs to sign off on your paperwork took an early vacation or has not yet responded.

You did all you were expected to do. So, the only thing left is to exercise patience. You may get that call between today and right before Thanksgiving.

You seem to have the job in the bag so don't worry :):p

If it makes you feel any better I am still waiting 2 weeks later for my we will contact you Monday... Depending how big the company is once HR gets involved it just adds to the length of time it takes to hear from somebody is all.

I thought so too...in a big way but then not getting the call is like falling off a cliff.....

Did you get your call?

I got laid off Oct 4. I went immediately to a recruiter and by Oct 9, they had me an interview. I met with the woman who said she will make a decision that day and I would know by noon (its a contract job). Well noon came & went, 2, 3, 4... finally at like 430, I get a call from the contract agency that the woman had an emergency and left abruptly that day so we would have to wait until Monday.

things happen. :( I know it's frustrating waiting though. Up here in New England, Ive waited 2+ months after an interview before getting an offer letter! My last job (that I loved) I interviewed in April and didn't get the offer letter until end of May, after a 2 week notice I didnt start until mid-June! Crazy huh?

Best of luck to you, I really hope you get the job.... enjoy your holiday though, it may be the last one for awhile that you get to have your days & nights to cherish with family and friends!

Sorry for the delay in posting.......YES!!!!! I did get the call just as you all had predicted he called the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving....yeaaaaah!!!:D:D:D:D

I was so stressed from interviewing and worry that the next 2 days I just relaxed with the furbutts and some wine/club soda. I just had to make myself relax or I would be useless on the job next week.

But yes I did get the job and I really appreciate you asking and being so supportive during my confusion.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and now we are all on to Christmas:santa:...save some energy for New Years, lol!:poof_smiley:

Congratulations!!! I'm so proud of you! With so many people out of work, likely there were a lot vying for this job and you got it! Wonderful. When do you start?
