| I get into bed last night and DH has the TV on. Something catches my eye on the wall. Well guess what. . Yep it was another scorpion. Needless to say, I slept with one eye open all night. DH is spraying inside and out tonight. I'm going to try to find some lavender. I'm praying there isn't any more. . Anyone else have these to deal with? Any suggestions?

| The problem is I don't know how many of them there are. Spraying the house and then I may set off bombs if that don't work. Then I think I'll plant my whole front yard with lavender!

| One thing I've read is to be sure your shrubs and flowers etc are thinned to the max and all garbage or toys, dog toys, grilling equipment, patio furniture, sandboxes, any place bugs or scorpions can hide in are all cleared out. Take garbage out for collection only the morning the truck comes, otherwise keep it in the house and isolated but be sure your yard, etc., is free of any place things can collect and hide in safety. No empty planters or flower pots, gardening implements stacked anywhere. Leave the ground free of anything but your shrubs that are clipped free of limbs from a foot or more off the ground, flowers with long stems that don't grow leaves, flowers near the ground and your trees. Otherwise, the yard must be just grass without any other places for creepies to live.

| 2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Oh NO not again.... Yikes ! I found this in an article about Scorpians and how to rid them from in and around your home. Here’s how to tell if your scorpions are Bark Scorpions: Only bark scorpions climb vertical surfaces. If your scorpions confine themselves to scurrying along the floor, you’re probably OK. If you’re finding them on the walls or in your drapes or climbing up the side of your house (or your leg), you’ve got a problem. * Switch your outdoor lights from white bulbs to yellow. Yellow light doesn’t attract bugs the way white light does. * Check your weather-stripping. If you can slide a business card under your weather-stripping, there’s enough room for a scorpion to wiggle through. Caulk or otherwise plug the spaces where electrical, phone or waterlines enter your house. Ditto in the kitchen and bathrooms where pipes come out of the wall. * Clear away, or at least frequently move, woodpiles or any other stuff you might have stacked up near your house. * Don’t leave wet towels on the ground around a pool or spa. Conversely, if you want to catch scorpions, leave a damp towel on your kitchen floor overnight. In the morning, pick it up, with tongs or with gloves on, and see what came calling. * The redwood bark some folks use as mulch looks nice on flowerbeds, but it’s a scorpion magnet. If you’re digging around it, wear gloves and keep your eyes open. also Also: Eliminate Scorpions' Food Supply Clear your house and garden of any insects like crickets, cockroaches, fire ants fleas, flies and others. This is among the most effective deterrents to scorpions. Keep Floors Clean Piled-up newspapers or clothes on the floor provide ideal nesting places for scorpions. Dust Ceiling Light Fixtures Regularly Dust inside ceiling light fixtures to remove scorpions and the other insects they eat. Spray inside the fixture with insecticide if you have found scorpions in it. Check Your Footwear Always check your shoes before coming in the house, and scrape off any scorpions attached.

| Oh dear goodness, why do I keep checking this thread! Great information Dawn...enough to make my skin crawl!!! I can't imagine having to deal with this on a daily basis, some of our YT folks are absolutely courageous! I will not ever complain about 5ft of snow again, ever....of course I will now hire someone to plow for me, but I won't complain!
