Iphone 4s VS Galaxy S II
 
I am looking for some opinions on the 2 phones. Right now I have Verizon, I have a plan that doesn’t exists any longer.. If I upgrade I have to pick a different data plan ( I have unlimited) so SCREW that, I use like 3 gigs a month in data and I am not going to pay an arm and a leg with Verizon so I will be moving to Sprint. I can basically get the same plan with unlimited data for 10$ extra and my monthly bill would be $ 80.00, right now I pay $112-


I am deciding on the Iphone 4S and the Galaxy S II…. I know a lot of people have the Iphone, but does anyone have the Galaxy? How do you like it? In the research I did the Galaxy is a way better phone, however I really like the Facechat thing on Iphone, and I don’t think the Galaxy has that.

I would love to hear pros and cons of each phone… I am really at a tie on which one to pick!!

I love my SII!

I think it will really depend on whether you're an apple person or not. I'm not a fan of apple, so the decision was easy for me. I waited in line for the S II to come out. I had never had an android phone before this phone and I really love it. I upgraded the phone to Ice Cream Sandwich and it is very easy to use and really fast. I love that you are able to add extra storage with a micro SD card. There are a couple apps you can download that enable you to video chat. Skype is easy to use. The phone is really light and thin. I've dropped mine multiple times and only have a tiny mark on top. I really could go on and on because I'm really a huge Samsung fan.

The only con I have about my SII is the battery life. After about 6 mos it really started going downhill. In areas with poor service I only get about a day out if it. The S III is out now, but I'm not due for an upgrade or I'd get it b/c the battery life is better on it. The battery life is really the only complaint I have.

I have the Iphone 4s and I love it. The battery life is pretty good and it is so easy to use...

For me, I like Apple but the only reason why I wouldn't get it right now is the Iphone 5 should be out sometime in the next few months... I have heard Octoberish.... So... If you don't want to wait I say go with the New Samsung Galaxy..

A blog I was reading last night had good information that Apple will be releasing the new iphone and an ipad mini sometime in Sept. I had been looking at tablets, comparing features and came across the blog.

I think it is simply if you like Apple or not.

I have had several iPhones... I love them, but I think the Androids are just as good now - with features and apps.

Wonderful thread. I have the Blackberry Bold right now. Due for an upgrade in September, around the same time the IPhone 5 is due to come out. The no5 is due to come out Sept. 10th...heard that on the news this morning. With the decline of RIM I'm gettin kinda scared. Love my BB, but what is RIM goes under, what happens to all us BB users.
So I'm also looking at Samsung...pros, cons??

I cannot stand Android phones, lol. Can't explain it. Just don't find them easy or user friendly at all.

iPhone for the win!

On a side note, super excited to hear about an iphone 5 potentially in September! My iPhone 4 is completely shattered and cracked on the back from being dropped way too many times w/o a case (stupid me) so I'm needing a new one, but was trying to wait.

Ya…. I don’t really know if I am an IPhone “person” or not- Never had one- I do have an Ipod and love it- Right now I have the HTC Incredible so I guess as it is I am an Android person…. Have you ever video chatted before? What the heck is Ice Cream Sandwich!!?? LOL

Have you ever You tubed the drop test on the Iphone and Galaxy? It is pretty cool- The Galaxy wins for sure! My battery life on my Incredible is pretty crappy, I keep a charger at work, in my car and at home!

I wouldn't mind getting the Iphone 4, only because it doesn't look like they are changing too much from the 4 to 5- With me it seems like they are always going to make the Iphone, however my phone isnt even made anymore... I think it is replaced with the 2 or something- I don't even know...

Very true, Android is keeping up with the Iphone, Like I said all the reviews I read on the 2 phone, the Galaxy came out winning... I mean they are both great phones, but I do think it comes down to the "name"

:eek: What??? I think the Android phones are super easy!! I went from a LG Envy to HTC Incredible and it was pretty easy to learn how to use.

What is it you like about your Iphone? Have you ever Facechatted or Facetime..? Whatever it is called before?

Not sure what RIM is...? People still have blackberrys... but more so have Android's or Iphones... You can do everything and more with those two phones than on a blackberry- I think it is time you switch over :D

Facetime, LOVE IT. Honestly I use it all the time on both my IPhone and IPad. One of my favorite things is when one of my nieces little girls call me on Facetime (they are ages 4 and 2 and know how to use the IPad and Facetime).

Jacqui you love your BB? I want to throw mine out the window. I have never had luck with any BB I have had. I am getting the Iphone as soon as my upgrade is available.

Ya I do...the Bold has never given me any trouble other than the occasional freeze. I know its time to switch...the IPhone scares me, too many apps that I know I will never use.
The Galaxy...haven't really checked that one out...so beats me!
All I do on a cell is email, maybe text once in a while and of course YT!!! Oh and Facebook. The occassional phone call, (not allowed to use phone at work...that will earn you several months suspension without pay).
I'm stumped...someone help me please!!

I can hardly get on YT on my BB. I text and email constantly and love surfing the web. I know it's time for an upgrade for me.

Hmmm what model do you have...I never have a problem getting on YT! I have a problem with the font though...can't see!! Time for an upgrade for me as well, just dont know what phone to get. :eek:

I just love my iphone 4s and it does so many things.......facetime, facebook, the cameras are just amazing and I can get good pics all the time, no matter where I am.
It is also very user friendly.
Now if I can only figure out how to put my babies pics up on YT :)

I actually just downloaded Tango- its a video chat app tonight. Anymore every app has versions for all platforms. Haven't tried the video chatting yet.

Ice Cream Sandwich is a newer version of Android. Not the newest (Jellybean). Its even easier to use than the last version, but then again I also find android super easy to use. I have trouble using the iPhone b/c I love my back button and can't past the lack of one.

Oh Cool let me know how the video chat works for you- :D I think Android's are really easy too, I find myself stumped when I use my friends Iphone.. like if she shows me a picture I dont know how to navigate myself!

I agree, I love the back button!!

I had the incredible before I had the iPhone 4s... Honestly I LOVE my iPhone way more then my droid. As far as not having a back button it's now on your screen only took me a few days to get used to not having it and I actually like it better.

As far as waiting to get the newest one I would mainly because it has to be 4g as almost all phones are. Apple would be stupid not to make it 4g. And it is rumored that the design will change. I have read the actual charging connector will change. I think it will because it will have to keep up with other competition.

Great!! I wanted to hear someone’s opinion coming from the Droid to the Iphone. I do love my Droid, I love the camera mainly- It is older 2 years I believe so it does act really goofy, it freezes and does other crazy stuff, but when it was new I had 0 complaints! I heard the Iphone 5 is going to be a pretty penny, I read online people are saying like 800-900$ that isn’t contract price so I am not sure if it will be $199 like the Iphone 4s is Sprint for new contracts.

I can get the Galaxy or Iphone with sprint for $199-

I went through 3 droids and I never have had an issue with my iPhone. I love it:) I'll be interested to finally know the facts when the new one comes out. Apple and the rumors lol:)

Another reason to wait would be if you did go with the 4s.. Apple will probably slash it to 99.. Good reason to save a 100:)

LOL Ya right- Apple isn't really into deals! I think I am going to go with the Iphone, I might as well wait for the 5 to come out... One of the reasons I wanted the Iphone Vs the Galaxy is the Face time. I know the Galaxy might have it available in a different name, but a couple of my friends have the 4s and have the face time. My SIL has the old Iphone, she doesn't have the face time, however she is going to wait for the iphone 5 then we will be able to have face time together and I can see my niece whenever I want! That was my main decider factor!

I am also thinking how many problems I have had with my Droid, I can only imagine in time how many problems the Galaxy would have- :rolleyes:

Besides when I go into Sprint, I will still be a Verizon customer, so I am sure they will give me some kind of deal to make me switch anyways!! :D
