I had the same problem choosing how many GB. Just went with the middle. lol. Really depends on what you want it for. If you are just surfing and pulling up pics, the 16 should be more than adequate. I doubt that is the only thing you will yse it for though. I thought mine was going to be mostly or s hool. HA. It has been six month and if this was a 16 I would have filled it to almost a fourth already. So I'm glad I got the 32. Also though, I wanted it to last me at least seven years through school... I didn't plan on upgrading for many years... There is just something about the camera. ?sone pics are ok. Some just seem really fuzzy. While not the best for different reasons, it is no better than my Alias 2 camera which is also crummy... Battery life is about ten hours, but I'd say with heavy use (like gaming), that is reduced. I've had a problem with Safari closing for no reason. Apparently you have to clear cookies and history. Spellcheck is horrible, so mine is turned off. Either way you can tell when I'm using the iPad because of missed letters and such. |
So far I love my iPad. I've only had it since Tuesday tho. Lol I bought the 16 mg with no 4g. I may upgrade to 32 before my 45 days are up ;) Not much problem so far with spellcheck or errors, it's easier than my iPhone for sure :sidesplt: |
I have an iPad and it has wifi plus I have a contract for when I 'm not in a wifi area. I use it for work but also use it to go on line. I 'm typing this on my iPad now I have the 64 GB but that way I can store tons of photos and music as well as keep track of my mail both business and personal. I haven't figured how to upload pictures yet may have to go to my lap top for that but this thing is about 80% of a regular computer. I have the iPad 2. |
So.... Wireless modem works! IPad here I come! Or should I say 21st century here I come?! |

I haven't read through all the responses yet. But I'm at camp right now and on my daughters iPad 2. Why do you have to pay to tether it to your phone? Which is by the way how I'm online right now. I love this iPad and so do my kids. The only difference with the 2 and 3 is the camera quality. The 2 is fine for all of our needs. My daughter really puts this to use. And we all use it for one thing or another. I say it's worth it. :) |
I have the ipad2. I LOVE it.. it is my toy. My dh gave it to me for a birthday present last year. I have the 32 memory, 3g and wifi. I have never used the 3g. I most likly will not use as much memory as I though but really don't regret getting the upgrade. I mostly read check accounts, go on yt, surf etc. I am now using for pdf and just purchased the connect so I can upload from my camara card. The only thing I wish is I could use the gps or maps in the car. I use my iphone now. I am really interested in learning how to teater to my phone.. |
I am a mac user. With a lot of research and my Mac geek friend of mine. I ended up getting the iPad 2 instead of the 3. It really wasn't worth the extra money. Also another thing to save some money get a refurbished on directly from Apple. I got one 64gb. less then if I got a 32 new. And Apple did it so you know it is done right. I am using it right now. My lazy butt doesn't even use the computer much anymore lol. |
I have the IPad 2 with wifi and 3G, LOVE IT!!! I use it all the time, it has become the "downstairs computer" that we use for surfing while watching TV (what has happened to us, we now need to surf the internet while watching TV). I had the original IPad, like it a lot but got this as a replacement (won it) and was able to resell my IPad for a great price. I use the 3G a lot when I am traveling, I work remotely and go to our main office once a month plus family trips. No regrets over purchasing the IPad, my little Macbook get very little use now. |

Do any of you carry your's out and about on a daily basis? Do you have a carrier for it or just a case that you put in your purse? I think we will end up bringing it to and from work daily so I have an excuse to look for a new bag now. :) |

I take it out quite a bit. I have a sleeve that I slip it into, since I have the iPad cover from Apple. You'd be surprised how often I use it and love the fact that I have the data plan so I don't have to rely on wifi |

I just bought an IPad 2...on Sunday, still learning how to use it. So far, I'm busy playing the game Words With Friends....very addictive, haha. I bought the 16, but trying to decide it I want to upgrade to a 32 and go WiFi wireless or stay with WiFi connect before my 45 days are up too. I have an appointment to upgrade my HTC phone to an Apple I phone on Sat., at AT&T, so I will check it all out then. So far...I'm loving it! Oh, and I bought a Speck cover at Target, which is like a leather binder for it and really like it....only $12.98. |
I take mine with me all the time, use a little portfolio like cover with a zipper that works well and protects the IPad. It does not add a lot to the size, I can still slip it into my purse. |
I purchased a leather Belkin cover with the magnetic off/on. It was $40. I bring my iPad with me to work daily. Don't have tons of time to use it always, but it's here and I love it ;) |

I saw that one too. I'm kind of worried to have magnets around my electronics. I don't know if that's just me being around of old electronics, but the magnet in a fan messed up the screen on our big screen (you know those things that came out before flat screens?LOL) So I did end up getting the ipad (new one) in black 16g. We don't have a lot of music or books, and the camera on my phone is better quality, so I don't think I'll need all the space. My phone has 16g of space and I've barely used over 1g so I think we'll be fine with the 16. I'm waiting for my Trtl Bot shell case to arrive so right now we are still keeping it in the box. Did anyone buy a screen protector? I've heard some brands makes the screen super sensitive or not work well at all. Also who got the extended warranty? We had a bit of trouble setting it up bc our wifi at work is password protected. I had to go in and change the privacy setting before I could set up the dang thing, then go back in and change it back to private. Did anyone else have this issue? I assumed everyone has their wifi protected so how did you set it up? Also it said if no wifi to set up, then use itunes. I tried to select it and it didn't let me. =/ |
Oh almost forgot. Saw this post on FB today. It said how to make your kids do their chores. Leave them a note that says "Want today's wifi password? Wash the dishes, do the laundry, walk the dog first." LOL seems like it would work! Change it daily, and keep them on their toes. |

I did not purchase the extended warranty. My DH is so against them. Thinks they are a rip off. But I do still have time to get it if I want it. My wifi is password protected but I didn't have trouble. Did you check you wifi using the settings on the screen? I didn't have to use ITunes I don't think. |
Go settings, general, then wifi. See if you see yours on there. |

I got the Trtl Bot one which is actually made for toddlers so it's really tough. We're using at the shop and don't want it to get messed up. As far as the wifi being protected, I couldn't even get to the screen you are mentioning. It got stuck after you choose your location and language. It said pick the wifi and mine was listed but with a lock symbol so it wouldn't let me choose it. On my phone I can choose a locked wifi band but then it gives me an option to put in a password. The ipad did not. I had to manually go in my wifi modem setup menu and turn off the privacy and after finished setting up the ipad (and update the wifi menu on the screen you mentioned) only then could I go back and turn the privacy back on. Weird. So yours was listed with a lock symbol but you were still able to choose it? |
The apple care protection is worth it's weight in gold. Dont even think of not getting it. Your iPad will be replaced, with no problem, should you have any problem. Same goes for iPhone, etc. My iPad was recently replaced because of a small problem. (I worked for Apple for a short time after I retired). Never heard anyone complain because they had purchased ACPP!!!! Personally I do not like the screen protectors |
