My dream car is also the car everyone says just screams Carmen. It is me in car form. A pink VW Beetle!!! I love them in all colors, but I especially want a pink one...with a pearlescent tint, so it shines purpleish blue. I would be perfectly fine with driving this around my town with little Luma sitting in her car seat in the passenger seat!!! I actually would pursue getting this...I drive a Hyundai Accent. So boring.

Would you feel safe in a car that small with all the huge vehicles on the road driven by a population on some type of prescription drugs or uppers or alcohol or street drugs or texting their brains out?

That's why its just a dream car :p I want lots of kids, so a beetle really isnt practical, nor does it seem safe. And dont get me started on texting while driving...it is my number one pet peeve!!! I dont even listen to the radio in the car. Paranoid about distractions.

I drive the biggest, tallest, heaviest vehicle I can afford and still am paranoid of all the distacted, high on who-knows-what other drivers on the road! Half the people I see from where I sit in my vehicle are fiddling with their music, cell phones, drinks, kids, GPS and I'm convinced all the rest are impaired with some type of chemical. Some are a disturbing combination of more than one! And then there are the truckers who whiz by if they don't run up on your bumper. Between them and the chemically, distracted drivers, I feel a target as it is!

I have an Accent too. The hatchback, and it's perfect for work. I can fit three bikes in the boxes back there, and two fully built up with the wheels on.

The Accent is small also. What about Mini's or Smart cars? Plenty of people drive those too.

Oh, I know! And with America consuming 80% of the world's prescribed opiods and the rest texting or otherwise totally distracted or meth'd up, I feel like a target in my big vehicle.

I LOVE my Hyundai Accent-mine is a four door (woo big spender here went all out LOL, when they were just under 10k!) seriously though they are great!~ Like a really big go cart!

I'll hang on to Speedy for ever! Sold the truck, didn't buy a new one because Elvis was too expensive (bummer but hey what can we do) and when I get my third seat SVU I'll still be rocking my Hyundai it's just smart to have an economy low gas mileage vehicle for running to the store and back.

I've always had an aversion to Korean electronics and cars, but I think they've changed my mind now. I have the hatchback. My dad bought it for me when my third Corolla broke down after 300k+ miles and he felt bad for me. He got this Accent at 36k mi from an old lady "who only drove it to go to church" LOL. I'm on about 60k+ mi now almost 2 yrs later.

I am creeped out by how quiet hybrids abd electric cars are but until we find another inhabitable plant I'm all for converting to them or biodiesel, or ethanol.

That's the one I've wanted since I was a teenager! Love it!

As for a new car, I never really fixated on any one in particular until the new Camaro style came out. I just couldn't stop drooling over them. Love the snub nose and the way the back sides flare out. Just love them period. Well, I finally realized that the Tahoe I was commuting to work in (2 hours round trip) was getting a bit unnecessary since both kids were now driving so I decided that my "downsize car" just had to be the Camaro. Got it (red!) and love it! I get so many compliments.... from young guys to older people. And best part (maybe) is the gas savings!

How cute! I could totally see you and Luma in this.

As for safety, the new VW is every bit as safe as my old VW Rabbit convertible that ate a brand new Buick in a head on collision (my brother was driving). MY VW drove away, the Buick had to be towed away.

I just want my baby back! 2006 Acura RSX Type S in Nighthawk Black Pearl, and well.... since we're dreaming, with a turbo kit and cool air intake. And since we're really dreaming... can my baby come with a few friends? Like a '66 Fastback Mustang, cream colored with blue racing stripes, and a pretty little black S2K with a hard top (soft top completely removed to take off the extra weight). I've always wanted to learn how to drift. :p

Well I want a Sprinter Van - all decked out for dog shows, and dog tripping:D:D Must have a separate Zanotti A/C. I'd spring for a retractable side awning, I'd build in a mini stove and fridge/freezer combo. I'd build in a swing down grooming table, also a portable generator. I also want to have the income to maintain that beastie. It is expensive on maintenance.

Then I want a Volkswagon Cabriolet, for when which is rarely I don't take the dogs with me. Maybe I could remove the rear seat, then have custom built in umm could I get two crates in the back?

Although I understand that Volkswagon don't make the Cabriolet anymore:(

Surfers here surf with their dogs all the time...they even use doggy wet suits!

I drive home a lot from Arlington, Texas to where I live and the big rigs just dominate LBJ Freeway/I-20 on that section of highway, especially after 8:00 p.m. on a Friday evening. A lot of that section of I-20 is deserted, with very little business build-up or any homes along most of it and it is the Wild, Wild West. If I were in anything smaller than my big, black, heavy truck, I would die of fright. And those guys driving those big rigs don't fool around with itty bitty cars - I see them bully them all over the place. Run up fast on those little ones and tailgate the bumper on a Friday evening until the poor driver just freaks. I am scared silly of them in my big black truck and move out of their way fast if allowed but some of the drivers don't see them coming or either try to hold their water and stand their ground or something. But to see one of those little cars that can't go very fast and with no horsepower at all being tailgated with air horn blaring by a huge rig that just slowed down from 90 mph with a juiced driver just turns my liver to jelly! One mistake and that little car and driver are an oil slick. 70 mph is the minimum running speed on I-20 and that's with a cop roadside but when the cops go, it's 90 to 110 mph and full of nothing but truckers head to tail trying to get home fast. Those truckers driving Texas highways Friday evenings on that part of I-20 are mean. They close-convoy and won't let you over - at all! That's when I love driving the hardiest vehicle I can afford!

They have the side-steps built in. ;) lol I kind of have to pull myself into my SUV. lol

Exactly why I prefer smaller cars! I zip through traffic always trying to put some space between me and the distracted driver who'd is either texting or on the phone.

I've even reported a drunk driver before. Those guys are scary! Almost hit me 3 times in 20 mins.

My first car was an ex's I took over payments on a porcge 944 turbo with col air ntake injection and lilbooster on the injection...needless to ay it ended up get recycled...my first ticket suspended my lic f9r 3 months because of it...

I purchased my "dream car" last year :) Ever since I lived in Dallas & realized that Suburbans are the minivans of choice down there, I've always wanted a Suburban. I LOVE it! It's big enough for pretty much anything. I feel a lot more safe driving my Suburban than when I drive my little BMW station wagon. Best part...I've found that drivers actually give me a little more respect on the road. I've never been cut off & it's a lot easier for me to switch lanes on a busy highway. Gotta love that ;) Maybe it's because my windows are tinted & they can't tell that I'm a 5'1" Mommy...LOL

I get the same "respect" when driving my dad's Tundra or my brothers T-100. (old truck with a camper on it) both look huge compared to all the little cars on the road. I think people are scared of the bigger cars. *shrugging shoulders*

I'm with you on this one! Downsized after driving Suburbans for 15 years to an X5 and man do I MISS that "house on wheels" as my friends call it. The sheer size made me feel very safe on the road plus it was a FlexFuel engine.

My 'everyday' dream car is an Audi A5 Convertible or an S5 Convertible. They are VERY hard to get over here in New England. There were 12 of them in the entire New England area for sale early this summer when I went to look for one. I ended up getting a BMW 328 Xi and I like it a lot, but I really wanted the Audi. The Bimmer is more affordable right now though too.

My DREAM DREAM car is a 1980-1983 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet, Plum color with a black whale tail. Been my dream car since I was 15. :)
