You have to use your credit card if you want to get any applications for your ipad, even free ones. When I signed up for itunes they wanted my credit card info, and a couple weeks after that, I got a call from my credit card company. Since the purchase was a none dog related item they were suspicious! :D Anyway, it was a relatively small purchase, less than a hundred dollars, and the credit card people said they usually start small and if it passes they get bigger and bigger. I can't remember the actual name of the company it was charged to, but I googled it and lots of people have been charged by them. Some say apple and itunes knows about it and aren't doing anything. You can google itunes and fraud and get some information, but I still can't find the name of the company listed on my credit card. She did warn me to check my statements. | I have an iPad Nancy and have never had to provide a cc number for free apps on iTunes. That being said...it wasn't stolen off your iPad. The server at iTunes was hacked.
My nephew is a college educated professional hacker. He is hired by companies to hack their sites and advise them of the security issues.
I had my cc number posted on some website! Seriously I guess they pass them around. The FBI called me over it. Asking what sites had my cc on their servers.
So it's either employees doing it...which you'd be surprised how often that's the case...or they were hacked. |
