We've only had a couple of days or so at 100 so far this year and Monday we are in for a cool down. I think we are going to 99 today. Monday, 92! I am sure D/FW will soon be slammed with a string of triple-digit days before too long. Last year we went weeks of straight triple digits! But then last winter, we never even got into the teens on the coldest night. I think 25 or something was my lowest temp one night. I never even had to wrap my outside pipes last winter. It was a breeze and after the summer we'd had, good compensation. Some winter days, I never even wore a coat out. But I'll bet we get the bad heat before too much longer. Sorry you guys who aren't used to it are having such a bad time! If you are not used to it, and don't have excellent A-C and such, it can be just awful - the most miserable way to live. I simply cannot sleep at night if I am too hot. I don't know how all those folks without power so long stood being so hot for so long. I'll bet they are all fit to be tied! Hope you get cooler weather very soon and that it lasts a good while. |

Well, lovely...our 'local on the 8's' was just on and we should expect a high of 111 with a heat index of 120  There is a bright spot at the end of the tunnel though...we have a 'slight' chance of a stray shower tonight... |

We don't have curtain or shades on any of our windows in our great room because normally we don't need them with the trees surrounding the back of the house. With this heat, we had to cover the windows so the air conditioner can keep up. |

Well, I am freezing to death right now. It is so cold in this darn house I\'m bundled up in a sweater! Tibbe must love cold air - sprawled on his back snoozing. |
Raining in Fayetteville, Ar.......thank you Lord! The temp has dropped down into the 70\'s....wow! The rain smells wonderful. Praying for everyone who needs the rain to get it soon. |
I can\'t believe it - radar shows rain miles away but we just got some clouds, a big burst of wind and some raindrops. Wish it would really rain. At least the clouds have temporarily cooled it some! No wonder I was freezing in here - it was getting cooler outside for a bit. Thanks for whichever Yorkie momma sent that rain this way. Oh! I hear thunder! Please God let it come on this way! |
