Prayers needed. Won't be on much in the next few weeks.
 

As some of you know, I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer that may have spread to my lungs. This is my second time, and we have opted for a bilateral mastectomy followed with radiation and chemotherapy. My surgery is scheduled for Friday, July 6th. They will do a lung biopsy at the same time.

For the last week or so my Hgb has been low, so we did some iron transfusions to try and get it raised. It's still too low, and they are talking about postponing surgery because of it. Monday I will check into the hospital for a blood transfusion and then go from there.

As you can imagine, this is a lot to take in and quite honestly, I am scared out of my mind. The next months are going to be hard for me, my family and my dogs. We already made the decision to send Darby to stay with my daughter for now because he is very high strung and needs a lot of one on one attention that we don't feel we can give him with hospital stays, daily radiation and biweekly chemo, and I feel like a horrible mommy for sending him, but I know he needs someone there more than I can be.

If you have some extra prayers and thoughts to send our way, please do. They would be much appreciated. I probably wont be on much in the coming weeks, but my daughter has promised to update when I am in recovery and to keep you updated along the way.

Thank you so much to those who have sent me emails, private messages and notes of encouragement. You have no idea how touched I am from the kindness of people I once thought of as strangers and now see as friends. May God bless your lives tenfold.

I am so sorry for this horrible time that you are going through...i do not understand why there has not been a cure found for this terrible disease, but men are being sent to the moon. My heart goes out to you and your family,my prayers are with you all

May God bless you, comfort you and give you strength as you fight this battle. Give it all to him and he will take care of you. I know it's not going to be easy but you can have hope that brighter days are coming! Please do keep up posted and I'll be praying for you.

I will be praying for you. I haven't been in YT long but I know everyone cares and will be praying for you also.

PLEASE keep us up to date on how things are going. Don't stop doing the things that you CAN still do. The support you receive and doing things to take your mind off the bad will be so much help.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through this. I also had breast cancer and I know the treatment is rough. I'll keep you in my prayers, and if you ever need to talk to someone who knows what you're going through please don't hesitate to message me. Take care.

Sending up prayers of healing and strength for you:love: Make sure to stock up the freezer with some easy healthy meals;) Gotta keep your strength up. I've also heard that those Queasy Pops are wonderful during chemo to help settle the tummy.

Michele, I've been praying for you since you posted back in the late winter or spring of your upcoming treatment & can't forget what you are facing. Please know that the day you go into surgery I will be in prayer that the surgeon gets everything they should & that you come through the procedure fine. As far as the follow-up chemo/radiation, I have two friends that both have had return cancer & had to go through the whole thing again. One had very, very bad anemia all along the way, had to have transfusions more than once. One it's been 7 years & she is now hale & hardy again. The other's second bout was 1998 and still going great - moved to Arizona & living the life. Both had grim courses of chemo/radiation but both got through it some how, some way through many, many prayers & lots of excellent medical treatment & family & friend support. I pray God will direct your path & guide you to health & healing through the faith & help He will send your way. Stay with the Word, stay courageous & try to take it day by day. When we are at our weakest, He is at His strongest in our lives.

I am so sorry you are having to go through this. Will be praying for you and your family. It seems every family has been touched by this dreadful disease. Just remember God says HE will never leave us or forsake us. Just keep praying and having faith it will be okay. You have alot of people praying for you. God bless.
