Wine Drinkers So who loves wine, I do and could drink it everyday, but try not to, I love Chardonay and dark reds that have a bit of an oak flavor. I just helped start a wine club with gals from my neighborhood. We have the second meeting this Thursday. We have about 10 to 12 gals; half bring a bottle and the other half an appetizer. This time I get to bring the wine. It's Pino Noir, which is not one I drink often, I even had to look it up to see if it should be chilled, they say slightly chilled. So who else likes wine, and what kind do you like? last month was Savinghon Blanc, which I did not like. LOL you would think if I liked wine I would know how to spell them:D:D:D:D oh well I don't and I am to lazy to look it up, so I am going to go pour myself another "sample" glass from the extra bottle of Pino I just bought:D Cheers Donna |
I'm the opposite in taste. I love the whites, The reds tend to put me to sleep. Reisling is my favorite. Its on the sweet side - and I too can drink it every day but chose not to. Actually drinking a glass of red wine every day is good for you - just like dark chocolate. It has its benefits. |

I'm not too knowledgeable in wine but Lisa got me into malbec. I don't Luke whites. They seem too sour. Even though normally I like sour things. Now ask me about rum! |

We did "Wine Wednesdays" last summer. Friends would take turns hosting and we'd each bring a bottle to try different kinds. It's a great way to sample lots of varieties and a fun excuse to have a get-together. |
Not a big wine drinker, but Moscato d'asti is probably my favorite. I like Reislingalso. So many brands are too bitter for me though. I like also a fruity taste, but hate dark reds. Port is gross..and pinot grigio. Love Madria Sangria. Girlie wines/wine coolers/Arbor Mist. White zin is too strong for me. Crimson and Clover from Sandhill Crane is amazing.. |
I rarely meet a wine that I dont like. I dont normally drink White Zin. Right now my favorite white is APOTHIC White,it is a blend. |
My favorite is Beringers pink zinfadel. Love it. |
i like cabernets and some merlots. red for sure though not a white wine drinker. cheers. |
I don't like sweet wines. Riesling Pink Zinfandel Moscsato Wine coolers, etc I love Malbec, Merlot, Chardonnay,Cabs, Pino Grigio, etc. Like white and red equally. I also like making home made Sangria and Calimocho in the hotter weather. |

i need to make a sangria everyone says they are great and there are so many variations to make!! how do you do yours? :) |
I like BOONE"S FARM STRAWBERRY HILL!!!! Guess that says everything that needs to be said about me being a wine conneusieur!!! Years ago, they had it marked incorrectly at the grocery,,,instead of $2.50/bottle they had it for $.25/bottle.....well, I loaded up on it, must have had 15 bottles in my basket...during checkout, the man that came up behind me, looked at my shopping cart, sniffed and said, "Thats what I like, a lady with a taste for fine wine"!! I dont drink hardly at all....and those 15 bottles of wine lasted me for almost that many years! |

Funnily enough - it's white wine that gives me the headache...  :D x |
I like fruity wines |
YorkieMom - BOONESFARM! Love it. We used to get blasted on that stuff in high school...ah, good memories. I'm happy they still make it, and seriously, who can beat $.25??? I've never been a big fan of whites, don't know why. Although, I do love champagne and prosecco - so delish! And not quite as dehydrating for me as wines tend to be...also, less headaches. Me and Tony used to drink a lot of red wine, but not much at all anymore. We like Cabs, Pinots, Sangiovese, occasional Barbera, occasional Shiraz, Merlots and blah blee. Willing to try almost any wine. One of my fave red wines is from Trader Joes. EVERY time I've had it available at a party - 10 people (yes, even the wine snobs) will ask what it is and want to write it down. I don't know what makes it so good, but it is...and so easy/smooth to drink. It's a Hungarian "dry red" (blend) called Egri Bikaver 'Bulls Blood'. It's usually $4-10....a crazy price for a drinkable wine! |

1 bottle of good red wine (I use Malbec or Shiraz) 1/2 Ltr vodka  all the fresh fruit you can cut up :D 2 Ltrs of diet sprite or squirt I mix all but the soda and add the soda per glass to retain fizz :p |

My Bf and I are huuuuuuge wine drinkers! He works in the food and. Ever age industry so he is always doing tastings and diving bottles home for us to try, we belong to a wine club, and just got back from Napa yesterday Doug some wine tasting. Heading to a wine dinner tonight too! We are huge red fans. Estate or Reserve from anywhere is pretty nice. Just had some amazing Mondavi Reserve Fume Blanco and Pinot (I usually stay away from whites and Pinots) but they were amazing! Turnbull estate wine are amazing. Peju is one of our faves! Can't get enough wine!! :-) |
we sure have a diverse group here, except for Sangria I can't drink anything sweet, i put the Sangria over ice and drink it only in the summer. I like to add peaches, plums, oranges and limes to mine along with a little blackberry brandy, and then add some diet lime or tangerine flavored sparkling soda. If I am in a hurry, the Madria will due along with some of the lime and tangerine soda. I will hang with bizzbeth and sugarmama any day since they seem to have the same taste in wines as I do. I still can't belive I have not gone out to Napa yet. I also love some of the Reds from Trader Joe that are not expensive, but can not drink their cheap white wines. For some reason to me I can drink a cheap red but not a cheap white and buy cheap I mean nothing under about $8.00 on sale, I do try to keep the price down since we frequently buy it. With all that said I wish I never started on wine, I would have more money in the bank and less inches around my waist:D |

I do a similar thing with my white wines too! I'll open a bottle and have a glass with dinner the first night & usually the next night too, but that still leaves me with a little wine left over. By the third evening is just doesn't taste the same no matter what stopper I use...so I get to concocting :D I'll mix the wine with strawberries I've infused with rum or vodka and some 7-up and add some lemon, lime or orange pieces and pour over lots of ice. Sometimes the mixture is REALLY good, but even when it's not...it's still pretty good :) |
My Uncle makes his own wine and I am not sure what he puts in it but WOW! After 2 glasses I am feeling good;) I don't drink much but if I do it's either his wine or something white. |

ohh i love wine. My fave is a wine made locally, in fact i try to only drink South African wines. I love red, but will drink white as long as its not too dry. I am not an expert though and would love to go on a real wine tasting (i have done this many times but its always just for fun, never for really learning) I think i would have to go with serious wine people to achieve this though as my friends and i would just start having too much fun :D |

I love wine! I mean love it! I am more of a white wine drinker but do enjoy a good pinot noir, cabernet or shiraz. Nothing beats a good creamy, buttery chardonnay though. To me, those are the best! I had a Clos du Val 2001 Chardonnay that was the BEST wine Ive ever had. I remember it still. It had hints of butterscotch and back then I was only 23 years old and was new to wine, so I heard butterscotch and decided to try it. Ive never been able to find it again. Now it's probably way too late! There is this cheap wine here called SeaRidge, the chardonnay is really good! It is thick and has hints of butterscotch. Its about $6 a bottle! I have to say that I need to stop drinking wine for a bit. I have gained so much weight!!! Wine is roughly 140 cals for 6 oz. I bet you my glasses are more than 6 ounces! LOL My sangria recipe is pretty decent too... if anyone wants to try it. I am planning on trying a few of the recipes here! I use strawberries, cut up oranges, lemons & limes. Bottle of Merlot or Zinfandel (red) 1/2 a bottle of OJ 1/2 a bottle of spiced rum 2 cups of sugar Its horrible for you, but it taste great!! haha |

Ok I must jump in... the bf and I make our own wine... we just sampled our Leibfraumilch (spelling?) it tasted wonderful, it's a very sweet white. We're bottling a batch of Merlot in 2 weeks. :) Personally I love reds. merlots, Shirez, cabernet merlot... would help also if I could spell them. |
