I do prefer that Mina walk. She needs to be exercised or she will drive everyone nuts each evening wanting to play. |
Well. Before I joined YT, I would never have considered a stroller. And probably spent a fair amount of time judging those who did. I don't have one - yet. However, Lucy absolutely cannot keep up with Ringo on an extended walk in the heat and humidity. He can go for miles and her limit is probably 1 mile. And that's with a lot of panting. Lots of times I just pick her up to give her a break. So I do see a time when I will get a stroller. |
i luv mine and the girls get in it when they see me getting dressed lol but they get penty of exercise playing chase in the yard and going for walks |

I feel bad now. We are being looked down on for stating an opinion that isn't very popular. The OP asked "Practical or Ridiculous" and we answered accordingly. :( To each their own. I will be unsubscribing from this thread now. |
I don\'t think anyone should look down at someone for not using a stroller. It is all about choices. I tend to go both ways with my opinion on a stroller, I have one and I do use it but with that said I also tend to make Sophie Kate walk when I can due to the hassle of packing the stroller. I am sure since I only have one dog it makes it much easier to pick her up and carry her when needed. I am sure if I had more than one Yorkie I would use the stroller more often. |
I agree that it is about choise. My comment was skewed more towards people that laugh or think that it is funny if someone chooses to use a stroller for their pet or pets. My feelings are the same for those that choose to dress or not to dress their furbaby. Truely hoping that my opinions did not hurt any feelings. Believe me I am all about what works for your family and brings each person joy. |
I have a Petzip stroller which I love!!! My dogs are 2.5 lbs, 4.5 lbs and 7lbs. They all walk when we go on walks in the neighborhood, and they do love it. But in large crowds, I would be soooooo nervous to have the smaller two on the ground...too many people and poosible accidents!!! I know many others have said the same thing as well. I do understand everyone not loving them, but for me, it is soooo much easier and honestly the best thing when trying to take them all to the ver, etc. Additionally, one of my dogs has a problem and sometimes can\'t bear weight on his leg.... we are currently waiting to see specialist. However, the stroller is ideal for this because on the days he is having trouble, he is still able to come along with us on our walks and enjoy being outside. |
Sorry if anyone was offended by my viewpoint on strollers for dogs, but like everyone else here i was just answering the OP\'s question. IMO if a dog is healthy and able bodied they should be walking, they are dogs after all :D. It has nothing to do with valuing dogs any less than humans, a dog is not a toddler or crawling baby. |
