???Do You Know The Significance Of 420??? Do you know the significance of 4/20 or 4:20 or 4-20? If you don't, Google it as I did when I saw #420 trending tonight on Twitter. I had no idea!!! Does anyone else out there over the age of 40 know what this means?:cool: |
Um yeah??? and if you're over 40 that means you were born in the 70s and for sure your parents knew what it was! Apparently THC has 420 special parts in it to make it extra special. :D And people celebrate that fact every year on April 20th, or every day at 4:20 pm, bc you know they would NOT be awake at 4:20 AM! :sidesplt: |

I have to say... this thread made me giggle. I am subbing at the high school so 4/20 is the topic of the day. BTW, 4/20 is also Hitler's bday. It has a lot of meanings, but smoking seems to be the main focus of the day :p |
Yes, but that BD isn't what they mean when they say 420 to each other and celebrate the day in Denver and various colleges apparently but boy, I had no idea there was this kind of code for smoking marijuana until last night when I saw it on twitter and then googled it. I wonder what else is goin' on out there some of us have no idea about? |

LOL. We should be at school with CouversMom getting up to date on the lingo! When I think I went all the way through all those years since the 70's and never came near hearing the phrase or seeing it written or anything - well, I guess I have lived a very sheltered life, since when you google it - it is all over the Internet. They said on one of the sites that "smokers" use that term 420 to indicate they are high, going to get high, ask if they look high, what kind of marijuana they are going to buy, stuff like that. I, ahem, got most of my info from, ahem, Wikipedia, a true bastion of academia and all scholars go-to source for higher learning. |

My dd is visiting. She laughed and said you know it is national pot day! She said it may be because students were home from school and that was the time they would meet up to smoke. Lol |
4:20 takes place two times a day, that's what I find hilarious about this. People who smoke pot will smoke it when they wish. People that don't, won't bc of this date. I got lots of FB updates with people saying they were faded though. I wasn't surprised. |
I learned of the term looking for apartments to rent while in college. "4:20 friendly" I saw that everywhere!! I had no idea what it meant until I googled it. |
I've never smoked pot, but I went to college in New Paltz, so I am extremely familiar with what it refers to. :rolleyes: It also happens to be my husband's birthday. He has never smoked pot either...LOL! |

Yep I knew the meaning of 4/20 "National Weed Day" not sure how 4-20 has anything to do with it. Not only is today weed day but in the town of Lima, Ohio during a dedication our mayor David Berger just deemed this day "Rockin 4 Ronnie" day !!! In honor of the Daley's a local family who has been in business for 80 yrs. Today they held a benefit to raise money for medical bills for one of their own, the original owners grandson and my friend Ronnie Daley who has been struck with lung cancer. What a great honor ! I'm sure he's getting his share of the wacky weed in order to ease some of his pain. In fact I know he is . . .:D . |
