Exactly!!! The POLICE carry the guns to protect and serve...not neighborhood crime watchers.

I agree!!! I hate it when I read opinions that are stated as fact that have not been proven at all. Ugh.

This case outrages me...I'm glad he was arrested. He followed a young man after being told NOT to and SHOT and KILLED him. He deserved to be arrested and have an investigation into what happened. God knows if it were my son who was murdered I'd want the same thing done to his murderer.

I think discussions about discrimination are so meaningful, as long as people keep their cool (not always easy!). So much food for thought can come out of it.

I don't know if he had cuts on his head or not, there have been reports of having cuts and not having cuts. Why do you think that if he had cuts it was justifiable? Zimmerman didn't want Trayvon to get away, even though the police said not to follow him, he insisted on following Trayvon, and Trayvon was on a phone speaking to a girlfriend, he told her was being followed and was scared. I'm assuming he ran at some point and Zimmerman may have run after him and tackled him. Why would a guy with an ice tea and Skittles talking to his girlfriend on a phone, walking in his own neigborhood, randomly attack some guy?

The stuff I read said Zimmerman went back to get the address of where he was at so are we sure he continued to follow Trayvon?

If I were to guess, I would say that Zimmerman jumped him and the poor kid probably did fight for his life. I would never go so far as to say that is definitely what happened. We don't KNOW what happened.....except that someone was out in the dark following people with a gun in his waistband. Someone was clearly screaming help and I seriously doubt it was a man with a gun. :(

So you thing Trayvon followed Zimmerman? Anyway, I'm not sure of anything, except the police wanted to let Zimmerman go, and if it were not for his Trayvon's parents, Zimmerman would be free. I don't offhand see anything about this to suggest he was threatened, he was looking for a fight.

This has nothing to do with this case.

The parents have been really classy about the entire matter...all they want is justice and they have not called for ANY rioting or lynching. They have every right to speak up about what they feel is an injustice.

yes.. the parents have been classy -- I agree. But the trashing of the local mall and the walgrees was related to this case.

I personally feel... again this is MY OPINION only... Zimmerman is guilty. I arrived at that after reviewing the information I had.. I just don't think this should have caused a life. period. Even if Treavon did hit zimmerman.. he weight half his weight.. it was not cause to kill him. If someone was following me and I was frighten I would hit too.

Also, yes if your or my child was killed in the same manner we would fight like heck... but I still don't think there would be riots in our name.
I have seen it... I have lived it. The same week this happened there were other crimes... violent crimes on innocent people that hardly made the news.. and justice was not served either. I don't have answers, and the whole thing makes me very sad..

As for the comment about him maybe being on drugs...all I can say is we will know for sure when the autopsy report comes back....but sadly we will not know if Zimmerman was drinking or on drugs because no one bothered to check him. :(

I have a serious question here I am not being sarcastic or anything but how do they decided whether he could have a fair trial and what happens if they decided he cant?
