This is crazy! Your DH's bro said "stop being a jerk, it's my bday!"? Was he talking to the mirror? You were not being a jerk! I'd be super pissed. And I would have left. I love to hold grudges. :D |
I've never been spoken to like that by any man - I have no idea how I would react but he's nooooo gentleman! I suspect I would have slapped his face, gotten my dog and left. It would take flowers, an apology in writing on fine note paper and then one day a long time from now, I might - might allow him to come apologize in person. Family or not, he's got to learn how to respect a woman! |

Wow! Honestly, I'm the type of person that would write them off and tell them to go to H#LL! I can understand if they didn't want the dog in their house, that's fine, but to be so rude and nasty to you was uncalled for and deserves an apology. And poor Peanut, you know how sensitive doggies are, I'm sure his feelings were hurt too:( You sure can't pick your family, huh:laugh: |

I dont know what I am going to do about this! I hate to hold grudge, but I feel he really needs to apologize. |
Any real man would apologize to you. |

thats the last time Id go to that house. Let them come to your house if they want to visit. If he didnt want Peanut in the house he could have handled it alot more maturely than that |

I know I wont be going there any time soon. I know if they do ask us for some reason Dh is going to tell them No. I am still dying to send that picture Nancy made up haha could you imagine!!?? Haha!! |
I love that picture and I would send it to him if it were me. Im the type of person that doesnt get mad I get even. With the way he acts I wouldnt care what he thought of me anyway. |

I feel so bad that you had to be treated like that (Peanut too!!). Maybe your in laws are having some kind of issues and you were the target of some misdirected anger. Regardless, they should not have spoken to you and Peanut like that. It was totally uncalled for and rude! I would just stay clear of them and try to avoid them whenever possible. |

For your own well-being and the sake of the family, I would forgive him in my heart as letting go of things like this is beneficial and far healthier than hanging onto it according to spiritual teaching and medical/mental health experts. But this young man does need to learn some manners, respect for women and humility. It may take the efforts of the entire family to teach and correct him. |
I am so sorry that happened to you and Peanut! I think you did the right thing by going back and staying outside. I pitty him and his fiance they need to learn how to treat people. |
I am so sorry this happened to you! I have no problem with people not wanting animals in their home, but I have a huge problem with anyone thinking it's OK to speak to you like this! I swear, no one knows how to treat people with respect anymore! I hope your husband has a talk with his brother and explains that he is NEVER to speak to you like that again. |

Well what a jerk you bil is! There is not any reason for him to talk to you like he did. And life is just too short, too stressful for you to have to be treated like that. I have an in law who makes me miserable.. I finally put my food down and refuse to spend time with her...wow I felt so free when I did that. I hope you work it out, but do not waste your time worrying about him.. Be happy! |
