ICK Factor and Alicia Silverstone Feeding Baby Spitting Into His Mouth Like Bird!!!
 
Have you every seen anything like this? Heard about it on satellite news but can't find the You Tube video itself so hears just one of the many links on Google and Twitter.

Wish someone could help me and link to the actual video. They say she tells how she does this! Yikes!!!

I'm so shocked, oh wow, that poor kid, how screwed will he be? I tried to find yout video so I could embed, but I'm not sure you can. In the meantime I found this one and couldn't agree more.

They say somewhere on the net that on the original video she explains how to do it and says something about how her son will crawl across the floor to attack her mouth! The news shows have the direct video feed I guess and it looks and sounds so disgusting as to kind of turn your stomach!!! What does she do when she's got a terrible cold and cough? Wonder if she uses a spoon then?

Even if that were true, him attacking her mouth, wouldn't she want to teach them that we don't do that? I wonder if Hannibal Lecter' mom did this? :D

Native American Indians spent centuries chewing food for their babies in order for them to be able to eat. Of course this was long before "progress" and "technology" and "experts" came around to tell them how they lived was "Icky."

I don't necessarily agree with or see the need for feeding this way in today's society, but I don't believe it harmed the psyche of hundreds of thousands of our ancestors over the ages either. The history books don't give any indication that the original inhabitants of America were "screwed" because they were fed this way.

Just my way of saying - be careful judging what worked for an entire culture many of us are descended from.

We also use to breastfeed 5 year olds, yes, things have changed, and I'm not judging any cultures, I'm judging Alicia for doing this and the fact that she allowed this to be filmed. The boy will always have this hanging over his head. It's really important for parents to teach boundaries for their children, she needs to learn some. Granted if everyone else is doing this in order to survive, it's not as bad. By the way, I've never read of this before, where did you learn that the Indians did this? I've read about so many primative cultures and never have read about this.

No doubt before cutlery was used in some form or fashion, people ate how they could and no doubt survived. Thankfully, we have moved on past that now and have less ickier ways of living in general. My mother told me that before they got a bathroom, as a child their family used an outhouse and make their own toilet paper. And the way females used to have to deal with monthly cycles just sounds undoable to someone like me. I can't believe how basic and raw and unsanitary life used to be and how wonderful it is now for the most part, aesthetically speaking.

it was done LONG ago, I would like to think that we have progressed since we had to chew the food for our children.. I think is YUCk....

I just don't think I could spit out food into my baby's mouth no matter how it used to be done in the past. I just couldn't do it. Wonder where she came up with the idea to do that and how she got past the ick factor herself?

I got to admit it grosses me out when a mom spits on a hanky and wipes her child's check, I vowed to never do that to my kids, I think I screwed up a couple times. :D

The video should show at the bottom of this article if it works out right. I saw this on facebook earlier & it's pretty bizarre. :/ Isn't that hindering his development in itself when he should be getting familiar with utensils & finger foods? Apparently she has no shame in it. Hmm.
