We tackled our lower powder room this past fall, love it. The upstairs guest bath needs painting and new light fixture...sigh, on the never ending list.

The painted wood in the blogs looked so clean, crisp and bright so I bit the bullet and decided to try it again. Last year I bought a "creamy" white versus a "white" white which is what I had used before. I have now painted all of my wood trim on the lower level and love it. I'm just not sure about the bathroom because of the amount that will be painted. The ceiling is about 15 feet high and it goes almost to the floor and it has some sort of shellac on it......Wish me luck because there is no way I will strip this off if I don't like it.....

A friend's mom has the prettiest paint job in her home I had ever seen. Her walls were painted a creamy beige (almost like a pale au lait color) and her moulding was just a touch darker in semi gloss. I just feel in love with this look. It wasn't the typical paint job with the white trimwork around windows, doors, etc. It felt very calming and serene when you walked in. I'm not so sure I have the energy to do this as we've got major amounts of windows and trimwork in my house. I think I am going to do this in the master bedroom and bath however. I just thought it was so soothing. Good luck with what you choose. :)
