Don't Mess With Texas Well, it should say don't mess with Oklahoma...DUH Oklahoma Mother, 18, Kills Intruder Breaking Into Her Home While on Phone With 911 - Yahoo! |
No telling what the outcome would have been had she not had a firearm. Thank goodness she is alive to tell about it. I'll bet she was so scared. I pray for her and the dead man's family. |

How scary. Glad she could protect herself. If I read that correctly the 911 operator told her she couldn't shoot until he came into the house? Is that right? I could have swore that I was told differently by the detective that was at our house after it was broke into. Just wondering. |

There was a guy here in Texas who shot two guys in his neighbor's yard and got away with it. Let me look for that one.....unbelievable... |
Here it is: Listen to the whole thing....it is something else! He got away with it. Here is the story: Joe Horn shooting controversy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |
I almost swear that he said in Arkansas if they are on your property they are fair game. Man that would stink to shoot an intruder on your property and you be the one that gets into trouble! |

Oh wow! I am a victim of being broke into. And it isn't right. Work your whole life to have someone take everything. He had guts. You have to give him credit for that! I tell everyone all the time not to sneak up on me or try to scare me. I have learned how to defend myself as well. If you catch my drift. Lol. |

That is awful you have been through that...it is such a violation. :( Good for you .. never leave yourself unprotected! |
Well as you gals know I'm from Canada. Guns are not so proliferous here. Oh yes we have our hunters n such. And we bemoan in the largest city in Canada a murder rate of 78 for a year. Some by gun, some by knife, or brawling, or what not. Our laws are not so clear about how and what you can do to protect yourself in your home. I do know because I looked up the laws vs a vs my dogs and if an intruder(s) break in. We should be okay. I have guard dogs along with my Yorkie. We need to post "beware of dog signs" on our fence and front door". That is adequate warning. I don't worry about my safety with my dogs, but if an intruder were to enter (they would have to be nuts to do so..) my dogs would go for that person. Magic would try to back the intruder up, but if the intruder doesn't back up, all bets are off. My concern stems from the fact I just know there would be a court case if Magic or Zoey were to bite an intruder. Their bites are likely to be very serious. I think the law sucks here. There is no way I should feel vulnerable and worried about my dogs, if an intruder breaks into my home. As far as I am concerned, you the felon, deserve whatever you get. |

You know, sorry but my feeling is, you enter my property and get a good bite from my dog then all I have to say is sorry about your luck. You are fair game if you are in their territory. Do you all remember the story about a guy trying to break into a house that feel through the skylight? Heard he sued the homeowners and won! What the.....!!:eek: |
