How much water do YOU drink? I don't think I drink enough water... it is REALLY hard for me to make myself drink water. I get a cup of coffee (or two) in the morning. A soda or tea with my lunch and then a beer or two when I get home. If my boyfriend makes me some ice water I drink that with dinner (usually 1 or 2 glasses). How do you make yourself drink as much water as you should? :D I'm probably causing gosh knows what to my body... oh boy! haha |
Not enough! I am going to try and drink more water less coke. I just hate water though. |
I drink at least 2 bottles everyday, i could never drink water until bottled water came along could not stand the taste |
When I was working I drank water all the time. Now, I drink coffee for breakfast and the rest of the day is diet coke. When we go out for dinner I drink tea but I don't like water and I know I drink way too many cokes. |
I only drink water and rum. Not kidding. A bit of juice to mix in with the rum. I still don't think I drink enough water, esp when it's cold. I don't measure, but I will guess I drink about 4 or 5 regular size water bottles a day. If I do drink tea, it's bc bf ordered it for me at Chik-Fil-A and it's unsweetened. |
Several years ago when I was going thru Chemo I was forced to drink water to help flush it out of my system and to this day I still drink 2 liters a day. |
Hehe... not enough and I usually run it thru my coffee maker first! Here are some tips: Use a favorite, special glass. (makes it more fun) or a straw or both. A Fresh lemon wedge squeezed into the water for flavor and Vitamin C... might take a little getting used to but yummy if plain water is boring to you. I always have a glass of water next to my coffe, tea or soda. The rule is I have to take a drink of water before each drink of a beverage. Water is really good for the body. It's the only thing your body doesn't have to overly process to get it to a point where it can use it. When I am not feeling 100%, I tend to drink more water.... it makes me feel better. Plus, fix a glass for your pup and drink together! :D |
I drink zero water :p I honestly cant stand the taste. I don't mind flavored water, but still never drink it. lol. I have heard that drinking through a straw is easier because you can drink more at one time. |
Probably not enough. Usually 3 or 4 bottles a day, along with my 2 cups of joe in the morning, a diet coke with lunch, and maybe iced tea if we go out. Of course all of those CONTAIN water, right;) LOL It's going to be one of my New Year's Resolutions this year. |
more water. I have found my self in the same boat exp. I don't drink coffee... When I was 23 I found out I was becoming hypertensive and the doctor told me cut out sodas, salty food and drink plenty of water I tried it for a while stuck with it for a year lost about 15 lbs along the way... I found drinking water hard because you want to drink the bad stuff. My doctor recommend crystal light less sugar more water.. it helps big time I drink two reg. size water bottle and two 16oz crystal lights dring the day... I also make flavored green tea... I boil it and set it in the frig... I love it cold. it gets water into the system and is healthy... the key is to lower your sugar in take which is hard and takes about four weeks... but ask your doctor about it... |
I grew up not drinking soda so I rarely drink the stuff. If I drink soda it has rum or vodka in it! haha I go through spurts where I drink a ton of water a day (a gallon at least) and then spurts where I don't drink enough water. I have a 32 ounce water bottle that I try to drink at least 2 of them a day. I drink too much coffee though. I drink 3-4 cups in the morning and then most (not all) afternoons I get a large Dunkins ice coffee. I drink a ton of fluids and always have water with me in a bottle wherever I go. Juice gives me heartburn now, esp cranberry so if I have some i have to water it down, plus juice has so much sugar I always water it down anyways. |
I drink about 2-3 liters of water per day. I re-fill a Camelbak or Nalgene bottle that I take everywhere with me. Started doing that in undergrad and it works perfectly for me. No excuse not to drink it, and I love that the bottles are lined and tell you how much water you have consumed. :) I really only drink water. I love coffee and have a few cups most mornings. Never drink soda because I can't stand the taste. I like some juices, and I'll occasionally have sweet tea (this is the South, after all), but I prefer water over anything else. |
i'm supposed to drink a lot more than i always do. pregnancy does that to you. but i at least get a couple glasses a day sometimes 3-4 glasses on a good day. but yea i'm not great about it either. i like juice, soda, coffee (decaf for now) |
I very rarely drink just plain water. It's either tea, for my hot drink, or diet coke for my cold drink....all day long. I moved to a house the other year that has horrible well water. I have a filter on the kitchen sink and my kids got me one of those brita filtering pitchers for Christmas last year....but I still can't stand the taste of it. |
I found that I drink more water if I put crushed ice in it.:D |
From what I have read lately, they are saying that 8 glasses of water a day should include all of the water content from the food you eat all day too. Much of our food is water -- so we don't need to drink near the 8 glasses of pure water a day that was and often still is recommended. If you are not showing signs of being dehydrated, then you are getting enough water. Here is a good article to read: How Much Water Should You Drink in a Day - Keys to Staying Hydrated - RealAge It even says: "Contrary to popular belief, there is no evidence to suggest that staying hydrated hinges on drinking eight 8-ounce glasses of water each day. And relying on the eight-glass rule may not be enough to avoid dehydration in certain circumstances." So it all depends on what your particular body needs. We all have different requirements because we have different activity levels. |
This is something I have always struggled with. I find I drink more water if I mix some Crystal light in with it. We now have a pitcher of Crystal light in the fridge at all times to encourage us to drink water. I find water boring... so I drink tea, coffee and diet soda a lot. I try to get in at least 2 glasses of water a day, but I'm not always successful... |
In the summer, I will drink a lot of water- bottled only, water out of a tap grosses me out. Otherwise I don't drink a lot- I drink unsweetened ice tea and seltzer mostly. Overall, I probably don't drink enough of anything- I usually have a cup of coffee in the morning and don't drink anything again until dinner. |
I only drink water ( at least a gallon a day) or more. I drink no soft drinks, tea or coffee. |
So... Do those of you who drink a lot of water see any benefits? What are us dehydrated people missing out on? To those of you who drink coffee and tea (like meeeee!) I heard that if something has caffeine in it you aren't really benefiting from the water in it because caffeine makes you dehydrated??? I don't know how true that is. Haha |
I don't drink enough water, but to encourage myself to drink more i squeeze half an orange, grapefruit, lemon or lime into the water ~ i ALWAYS finish at least 2 large glasses this way  |

I only drink water, too. Very rarely a cup of herbal tea. I drink well over a gallon a day, and I do feel better. Sometimes with a squeeze of lemon. I think it helps my skin, hair, digestion, sleep...everything. I have a reverse osmosis system so it's not "tap". I used to be a Diet Coke and then Coke addict. I feel so much better without it, but so many people seem to be able to drink it. |
Depends on the day...sometimes I drink 4 to 6 glasses a day and then other days almost none....guess it depends on whether I am in a diet soda mood or not, but it's either water or caffeine free diet coke if I need the bubbles! |
I dont probably drink enough water but my moms doctor after some tests told her she was drinking to much water :eek:who knew you could drink to much water lol |
I love the suggestions of putting fruit in water. YUM! Going to have some green tea now... helps with metabolism, or so I hear... haha |
I used to hate to drink water. I liked some of the bottled water but was not wanting to pay for it. I would drink Pops and Coffee. Then I started my new job this past May and they are a plastics company. Well they get free absopure water and my boss told me we can drink as much as we want. I had never really liked absopure water because to me it tasted just like our tap water. but they also have steam distilled so I tried that and I got hooked I started drinking 4 to 5 - 16oz bottles a day 2 or 3 during work and 1 on the way to work and 1 on the way home. Well since may I have lost 40 pounds and I feel alot better. |
