| Dog Town sinister beginnings... **NOTE: I apologize in advance if my following post offends anyone...I'm a Christian and I realize not everyone will share my opinions.** I was watching a documentary on Netflix called "Cropsey," which is about a rash of child murders in the 70s-80s on Staten Island. It focuses on one man who was convicted of a couple of them. Apparently, this man was a part of a satanic cult called "The Process Church of the Final Judgment." I'm a very curious person, so after watching it, I decided to google some info on this "church" as they mentioned it was the "church" the Son of Sam belonged to, and I just wanted to see if I could dig up any connection (what can I say, I'm a very inquisitive/curious person lol). The most shocking thing came up in my search. Apparently, this satan-worshipping "church" was founded by a married couple in the 60s. In the 70s, the worshipers somehow fell apart and the founding couple changed the name to "Foundation Faith of the Millennium," then finally renaming it...BEST FRIENDS ANIMAL SOCIETY to become a non-profit organization. Sound familiar?? I'm sure you've seen that wonderful show "Dog Town" on NatGeo. By the way, Charles Manson is apparently a huge fan of this couple's preachings. Wikipedia has information on this "church," leading those who read to believe that they worshiped God and Satan equally, but further research led me to believe otherwise...especially with serial killers being so drawn to this faith. Also, the founding couple were also practicers of Scientology before founding their "church." I am just in awe and shock that such a beloved animal sanctuary was founded by people who, in my opinion, held such a sinister faith.
