I used to love the show Queer As Folk on Showtime, and for a while was obsessed with meeting the cast members. I have met and talked to Hal Sparks (Michael) 6 different times. He used to perform at Caroline's in NYC, and was awesome about meeting and talking to fans after the show. I met Gale Harold (Brian - who was also on Desperate Housewives at one point) after his show on Broadway. We weren't allowed to take pictures, but I did get his autograph. I practically accosted Randy Harrison (Justin) in a parking lot after I saw him perform in Amadeus. He didn't seem too happy about it, but he did take a picture with me :)

I met Kenny Baker (R2-D2 from Star Wars) at a sci-fi con. I also chauffeured Elvira and Ron Glass from Firefly while working at the con one year.

My dad has done some political stuff over the years, and he has met a lot of famous people. James Earl Jones and Glenn Close are two I know of for sure.

Does it count if it was my daughter and not me? LOL :D She went to a movie in Miami and sat in the seat just n front of Matt Damon and his wife. As they left he held the door open for her as she went out because she being nervous had stumbled getting out of the isle and bumped into him. She was so excited she called me on the second she got to her car. She said she couldn't believe how nice he was, even when before the movie started there were a bunch of teen age girls snapping pics that wouldn't leave him alone and he was so nice about it all.

This is embarrassing to admit but I used to date one of the cast of the original Beverly Hills 90210 and it was in the height of the show! Back then it was pretty cool though! Will leave everyone guessing as to it was. Because of that I had the chance to hang with some pretty cool celebs! We were having lunch one day in a cafe and a bunch of screaming girls came up to the table and wanted our autographs which to me was pretty funny since I was a nobody!!! Have never understood the screaming fans thing or the autograph thing! It's a freaking signature! I think a few of our photos ended up in a tabloid as well!

You sure sound familiar...I swear I've heard this story before and the the person I heard it from was also a "stylist"...hmmm......but, you wouldn't happen to be from Virginia Beach would you?

LOL! Wouldn't that be a coincidence!

Sorry Brit. I guess it was someone else. I can't remember who though.

I went to school with and used to be friends with a girl who was a former model. She is friends with Leo DiCaprio and I went to his 25th bday party. She also invited me to one of her friend's bday parties and I didn't know who until I got there, was Kidada Jones (Quincy Jones' daughter) and Gisele and Carmen Kass and a few other models were there. Did not get to meet them but I saw them there. I also once dropped off my friend outside Gisele's house so she could pick up her kid, but I wasn't allowed inside. LOL Oh well.

I worked on a set of a commerical that Michael Bay was directing for three days. He yelled at me. :D It's very easy to get him pissed off anyway.

Then one time at a club I met Too Short, and saw Suge Knight, Nick Cannon, and Lil Kim. Suge is HUGE. Kim really is tiny, and Nick Cannon is annoying as hell.

Still have not met Johnny :( but a former customer of mine is brothers with one of the screen writers from the Pirates movies.

I saw Ellen Barkin outside the Kodak theater once, she was running in late for some awards show I guess, she looked great!

One of my friends used to be the coat girl at a club in Hollywood so she's met a bunch and has a lot of funny stories about them.

Then another one of my friend's bf is a club promoter and he knows a bunch of people in the music industry, hopefully I will met some one day. He said Jack White was really nice and really really tall.:)

Although I have never met any celebs, after reading this thread I will say I am jealous of one person..... Jodi :D

My sons grew up knowing if they ever met "George" they should only ask one thing..... "Will you Marry my Mom???" :p

How awesome! I'm jealous of all of you! I've only met one celeb in my life. It was a singer from the band 'Alabama.' His name is Randy Owen. I was working at a grocery store called Winn-Dixie in Tuscumbia, Alabama which is about 2 miles from the Alabama Country Music Hall of Fame. Anyways, I was working at my register and this guy came through. He was so nice and I just kept thinking I think I know this guy. So I kindly asked who he was and was floored when he told me was with the band Alabama. He tipped the bagger boy like a $50 tip too! He was so friendly, down to earth!

I would love to meet more celebs!

If I hadn't been :dribble: and stuck on stutter I would have proposed too. He had the smile to melt your heart and his eyes sparkled in the mirrored elevator. Oh boy *sigh*~he kind of tipped his cowboy hat when he said hello

I have encountered and met quite a few while in school in Malibu, living in Chicago, having friends in bands, and working for a MLB club. Didn't talk to too many unless there was a reason, mainly work related. It's fun to see what they look like in person.

Strangest and most disappointing: Matthew Broderick. Ferris Bueller is very soft spoken and has a cold, limp handshake :p Maybe he was saving his strength for the stage since he was performing that week.

Biggest Presence: Donald Trump and Gov. Jesse Ventura

Shortest: Bono, Tom Cruise, Sylvester Stallone

Favorites: Gregory Hines (RIP) and Mikhail Baryshnikov

Funniest: Walked into the fake snow on the outdoor set of "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles." Ducked into an alley, and there were John Candy (RIP) and Steve Martin standing alone. I talked to them for a bit. Candy was incredibly gracious.

The only famous females I recall seeing up close are Olivia Newton John and Cher, and Trudy from the "Facts of Life" was a fellow student at my school, lol.

OMG, jealous of Johny Candy and Steve Martin. Two amazing people/comics, lucky you!

I could see Matthew Broderick being a little... ehh? Just not very exciting.

That's awesome! :D

Love Leo!

And OMG - Johnny Depp is on my "NEED to meet" someday list, LoL. I could watch that man all day.

Well at first I didn't think I met anyone but lets see:

Ian Millar - Canada's top show jumper (equestrian) who was on Team Canada when we won in Bejing.

Wayne Gretzky's dad, we were at a local pub and he was hosting an auction. My boyfriend sent me home to get a bunch of Gretzky cards and have him sign them all. I ended up having a business conversation about his scholarship fund and how I wished more people like him supported youth's education. :P

Arlene Dickinson - the dragon from the Canadian's Dragon's Den, she was at a conference where I was a contestant in a small business youth award.

Sassy Jordan - She was a judge when I went to Toronto for Canadian Idol. Also got to meet the rest of the panel too.

The coolest of all, he's not really a celeb, but a very important person is Arno Gego. I'm on his annual e-christmas card list :D I did a science project on show jumping in highschool and when I was researching this guy, who I later found out was one of the best course designers for Olympic show jumping in the WORLD, called me to help me with this project. I bought his book, and have spoken on the phone several times. He even invited me to attend his school in Aachen, but I couldn't afford tuition.

Totally cool!

I spent a weekend with John Lyons :D:rolleyes: - well hubby and I attended one of his symposiums and we got to spend some one on one time with him. He is a really cool horse trainer - I've learned more about training dogs from John than all of the dog trainers I've met, used, and read about.

That's awesome! :D

I was having a bad day when I met Candy and Martin. When my feet hit the fake snow, I was thinking, "What the heck is going on here?" Then I saw all of the equipment and trailers. Candy really lifted my spirits. He seemed like a genuinely nice person, and that is what I read about him after his death. Martin was sort of cooler, but he was working and sort of acting like the character in the movie, but he was cordial.

Madonna was ridiculous. I had been warned that she worked out on campus, as did many celebs. Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, and Charlie Sheen were often there to cruise college girls, lol. The first time I saw Madonna, I wasn't sure it was her. She started talking really loud and yelling sarcastically at her trainer. After hearing her voice, I knew. I got the impression that she wanted people to pay attention to her. What a shocker.

We should start a thread about who we would like to meet. :) The Captain would be first with Johnny!! When I recently heard there was a video of JD falling down or being knocked down by a fan, I thought it was Priscilla finally meeting the man. :p

har har har.

If I were to meet him I think I'd just freeze and not know what to say. This was what happened when one of my bff's met Morrissey. Her bf knows him and he formally introduced them and she was just silent the whole time. I think this would be me.

Sounds awesome. I've never heard a bad word about John Candy. Seemed like a genuine good soul.

I could guess that about Madonna... she's not someone I'd ever seek to meet. Rob Lowe is HOT! :p

Yes, my list of want-to-meet would be Tom Hanks for sure. Johnny Depp. If MJ were still alive, I'd def. wanna meet Michael Jackson, but so sad, too late. :(

I always see movies that were filmed around here and am like WTH, how did I not know about this?! I'd love to visit a movie set.
