Do you Yelp? Have you ever left a bad review?

These people keep contacting us at our business with promises of "putting us at the top" of their list.

There are currently 92 plumbers listed with them in the Dallas area, and the price they want ain't cheap...we passed.

Angies list costs us nothing, it's user based (meaning companies can't pay more to get to the top) and I've even seen tv ads about it. Until we moved to our new office, I'd never even heard of yelp.

Yelp keeps calling us too! It's to the point where we have the sales rep's number saved in our phones so we know not to pick up when he calls. He's relentless. It's getting so annoying. I also hate how I've noticed the ones who pay for their ads have less filtered reviews. I am starting to trust yelp less and less.

I just wanted to add this...no, I don't remember if I used Yelp, but I did post a million reviews.

Today I took Princess to a new groomer for nails, sanitary & belly-do's. When I paid the owner she asked who previously groomed her. I said who, she asked what happened so I told her. And do you know what she said? "Did you post that on some review site?"She said she saw it, and if she saw it chances are someone else saw it. "Ha Ha!" (<---like the kid on the Simpsons)

Yikes, I didn't realize that Yelp allows business to pay for placement. What bs. No wonder I never find anything decent by looking on Yelp.

I've never been on Yelp before, but there are a few places I would love to give good reviews. There are so many great places in our town.

I don't know if I would get back to them or not in your case.

Yeah isn't it?! The guy that keeps calling us from Yelp says a competing bike shop is advertising on our page, so we better advertise on theirs. First off, we aren't competitors, we carry completely different bikes. Our customers are not theirs and vice versa. Second, I kind of don't really believe in paid advertising. We've never paid for advertising before. I believe if you are good at what you do, you don't have to. People will talk about you and word of mouth is was gets people to buy anyway. You see a lot of ads for things, but do you really go out and buy it without asking your friends first.

Now I got someone who messaged me and said that pizza had to be a fluke bc they LOVE that place!
