Are you a "Ma'am" or a "Miss"?
 
I get called maam most of the time. What? I'm 31 and asian so I look 21. I put on a Hello Kitty shirt, and all of a sudden everyone is calling me Miss. HA! I should wear HK more often huh?

btw I do not dress like I am in my 30's. Mostly I wear baby t's with cartoons or similar on them.

I live in the "south," so usually it is sweetie or honey. :rolleyes:

I have gotten a few ma'ams from teens. It's depressing. :p

I hate it when a customer calls me Ma'am. I know I am 50, but I don't like to feel like I am 50:D

usually the people that call me ma'am are older than me. How does that make sense?

LoL I can tottaly picture you in a HK baby t!! So cute!

When I am driving in my corvette I get the "Hey Sexy" Which by the way tottaly creeps me out!!

When I am outside of my car I get "Miss" Today was the first time this older guy said " how yoou doin" hahahah gross!

I grew up in the south. I NEVER called an adult by first name.. except with a Miss in front.. My daughers friends did not call me by my given name either.
It was yes ma'am.. or thank you ma'am

Now.. in Miami the students address teachers (females) as Miss. Not ma'am or Mrs. XXXXX it is Miss. It takes some getting used to.

Not even Mrs. so and so? I like the Miss [first name] idea. One of my fave teachers in HS used to always call me Miss Priscilla. No idea where that came from, I didn't really have the rep as a sweet little thing. LOL

I live in Tn so when I am working (at a call center) where we take calls from all over the US. I say yes ma'am or sir when i am talking to people. Most have no problem with this and many times comment on my accent. I was taught it is polite to say ma'am and sir as a sign of respect. I do have some women who, already aggavated about their medical bill who will mimic the ma'am. I remember the first time someone called me Ma'am felt so old and i was not even 30 yet.

Funny call one day. I kept saying sir to a man on the phone. He said quit calling me sir, i am not in the military. I apologized and sd it was a southern thing and I could not help it. I kept saying it all through the call and he got aggravated with me. Could not help it at all.

i get a lot of miss and it bothers me because i'm not 14 anymore. i'm 23, married, and work there full time on salary. everyone thinks i'm a teenager working there on summer break. i'm like hello, i have a baby bump, and i've been married over 2 years. lol i just bugs me to get called Miss by kids WAY younger than me.

I wish I got that Asian gene in me!! When I was 13-14, I went to Taiwan for summer vacation and someone thought I was 25!!! :eek::mad: That's not even bad...someone else thought I was my aunt's sister...and she's 50 something at that time!!! Now, I'm 21 and probably look older...not fair...:(

Well it gets pretty annoying still getting carded buying booze or even a lighter! :mad: Please, I can accept maybe looking in my 20s but there is no way in hell I look too young to buy a dang cigarette lighter.

Asians also have the flat butt syndrome, jealous? LOL
