Personally, I tend to post more when I am at my computer rather than on my iphone. It is frustrating to try and type a lengthy response using that tiny keyboard! It is easy to READ posts on my iphone because it is always with me. But, responding is tricky.
In addition, I don't post if I have nothing new to add to the conversation. I am mainly interested in diet, health and training, so tend to ignore the games and off-topic stuff.
IMO, YT is the best, most active forum out there. I even tried some of the specialty Biewer Forums and gave up on them. Plus, our Admin rocks!

LOL!!! .... I don't like to think of it as this.... but I am an OLDIE, too!!! I don't have near the posts that some do, but have stuck with YT for a long time. I have also made friends with MANY peeps here...... one of these good friendships lead me to Seeger -my little rowdy boy!.... :aimeeyork

This IS a great site, you just take the good with the bad..... and most of the time the bad is from people that usually fade away from YT... at least that is my opinion. I don't like people bashing so I ignore it. We are here for the same reason... the love of the Yorkie breed and our dogs :aimeeyork..... so making the best of it and enjoying the site is what I do!!! (.... when I see a Yt member "bashing" thread.. I try to stay away from it if I can... why get all tore up over a persons negative opinion? :) )

I didn't realize you only joined in March! It seems like you've always been here. When I first started here I posted like crazy too. :)

I've been here for awhile on YT. I don't always have time to post or always have something to add to a discussion but I think this is a great forum to learn about Yorkies and to make friends. That hasn't changed though folks come and go.

Their is an addicting quality about YT. Although people come and go their are always the "oldies" here, and new Yt members. I have noticed that the numbers are half as low as they have been before, but that could just be because it is summer.
There ar emany many people on here with such amazing advice and knowledge. YT will always be a wonderful place to learn and meet others. I do not see it ever going down. ;)

I don't post like I used to - for several reasons - but I've been coming here for over 5 yrs and plan on coming as long as it's around - which I believe will be for a very long time. :D

I don't think there's anywhere else like YT. You can google and get info - but here you can get first hand info from people who have experienced the thing you're asking about - and that includes anything from illnesses to strollers.

I've met a lot of people here - made some friends that I've met in person - and made some friends I've never met --- yet. And yes, there's always a new friend to be met here.

I really like the fact that there are other areas to post in. Sometimes I don't have anything to add in one area or I'm burned out - so it is nice to be able to talk about something else - it's finding another common interest.

People will come and go but I think the ones that have formed friendships here will always come back.

The one thing I truly miss is that Priscilla isn't on as much as she use to. She's always fun to chat with. :)

I think it has a lot to deal with the fact that it is summer for most of us. I have been busy travelling, visiting family, doing housework, and working. I think things will slow down in the fall, and people will be online more :)

I so agree!! I used to spend many hours daily on YT when I needed info, or wanted to share what i've learned about raising a new puppy. I also enjoyed all kinds of Yorkie "talk" and interacting with other Yorkie owners. I now only check in about every 4 months or so. I have a couple suggestions:

1-Why not devote a complete section for 'games only' so those looking for Yorkie info can quickly find it rather than having to read page after page of off-topics.
2- And NO bashing newbies! I believe fear of being reprimanded is the main reason there are too few newbies posting and older ones leaving.

Other than theses two things, I think this is the best forum for Yorkie owners.

There is a section for games only, when you come on YT ,do you pull up new posts or go to each individual forum? If you look at the top of the page under the Yorkie Talk Banner, you will see a task bar ,click on forums and it pulls up the index with all the individual forums. This way you can only look at the areas that interest you. If you go under new posts it pulls up the newest posts from all of the sub forums.:)

i haven't noticed it being all that slow here. I also don't tend to see much of the drama threads as i stick around the pictures and videos sections. always something to put a smile on my face and not much bad can be said about cute puppy pictures! :D

There is an ALL ELSE section to YT. This is where the games and off topic discussions are located, such as this thread. In the YorkieTalk seciobion you find all threads just Yorkie.

I love having these off topic sections. I like being able to discuss whatever with people I have gotten to know over the years. Who else am I gonna trust with my neti pot concerns.:rolleyes:

I love YT but I haven't been on as much lately. Seems like there just isn't as much time as there used to be. I'm going to try to come back more often and catch up with news from everyone and their babies. I don't seem to be getting the "we miss you" messages anymore and that usually got my attention. I don't think there is any chance that YT will ever die out.

I love YT!

Two weeks ago this Saturday I had to take my Taycie to the E.R. Vet. I was terrified and I knew this would be the place to get the prayers and thoughts going because.. I needed it! I was a nervous wreck!

Needless to say, I posted in the E.R. section.. and I could here my phone dinging almost immedietly.. and I knew where are those emails were coming from:)!! It brought a smile to my heart to know so many people out there are caring for me and my baby.

I personally stay away from the heated threads... oh I read them alright.. but I just am not a confrontational person in the slightest.

I love the friends I have made (and I love making more!) and all the advice I have been given. I know Taycie and I have truly have benefited from it!

I really want to sign Taycie up for a GE! I think that would be so fun!

I think Im an 'oldie' but not a wisey! :) Ive been here about 5.5 years now! My how time flies! I don't see YT slowing down at all! I do miss some of the older more prominent members, but I hope they are happy with whatever they are doing now. :)

I have been here around 2.5 yrs and i have seen a lot of knowledgeable people come & go...D. Werten helped me so much during the time that Micah had his
Surgeries and was at UT...I always loved talking to "Living dustmop" she shared a lot and was so much fun..Jackson25 and so many more

I believe YT is here to stay, it seems to just be a bit more calm lately..but it is the place to be :)
