anyone used a NetiPot? My face feels so congested. I was looking for a safe remedy and found this. As silly as it sounded, I am thinking about getting one to try. Anyone used one before? Do they work? |
I use one when my allegies and sinus flare up, they do work:) |
I have taken a few days of Tylenol allergy sinus with little or no relief. I am starting to feel the pressure just below my eyes with sharp/shooting pain. I am ready to try just about anything. LOL, even this as gross as it sound. :) |
I use a sinus rinse. I used to use the netipot, but now I use the one that looks more like a bottle (not a pot) and you squeeze. It gives a little more pressure with that style. I definitely think they work. I don't think it is gross, it just sounds gross. |
Never tried it, but I think they do work. My dr. recommends them for sinus issues. But I was reading something about their use and having further problems later because of it. There are side effects. If the drugs aren't working, I'd probably be trying it. Nothing much worse than sinus pressure, goop, and headaches! |
I just called pharmacy and he said sudafed was safe to take at 20 weeks of pregnancy. I was surprised by this. He said the nettipot was more of a rinse and may not help with congestion. I wish I was able to get in touch with my Ob but he is out of town this week and office closed early today. I read some things about sudafed not being safe. ??? |
You can always call another pharmacy and get their opinion on Sudafed. ;) That's what I do when in doubt. I call around. And then sometimes I still don't believe them, but if I'm desperate, I do it anyway. lol Nobody else at the OB office can answer this for you? I would be very hesitant to take it. |

I called 2 other pharmacy's and both said "Yes, sudafed is fine after first trimester." I am still hesitant and think I will just try the netti pot for now. |
I use it and find it very helpful with my allergies, I suffer from bad pollen allergies so for me is a life saver... |
I use one every day, twice if I've mowed. I love it. ETA - if I mow in the afternoon, I use it again while showering to remove allegens. |
hey girlie. i've already texted ya about my OB's office website says it's ok after 12 weeks and my advice was take the lowest dose you can and don't be miserable if you need it take some. people do drugs and lots of other horrible things and have healthy babies. using a tiny bit of allergy or sinus meds once or twice should be ok to do. good luck sweetie! |
I bought a netti this afternoon. It is such a weird sensation to force water into your nose. After the first nostril, I was okay. I was making a weird breathing noise while trying to breath through my mouth and not snort water, both the girls had to watch mommy, so cute. I did feel some relief after using and could tell it cleared nasal passages. Headache has eased up some. |

While at the pharmacy picking up my netti pot, I aske the pharmacist and she asked me what my blood pressure had been during visits. Honestly, I can't remember. I know it has been okay but don't remember the numbers. I have taken Sudafed before and it did make my heart race a little. For this reason, I am going to hold off on taking until I speank to my dr Monday. |
I have a friend that uses it. She thinks it's wonderful. |
I have several friends who love it. |
