book club
 
Maybe we can start a book club I love reading and maybe because this is yorkie talk a dog can maybe have some part in the book we choose to read! What do you think?

I'm always up for a book club. :) I read a fantastic book on dog behavior recently. It was featured on the Colbert Report.

Because I am a teacher in Middle School and one of my bff is a Language Arts teacher I have read a lot of the "young adult" novels...and liked them

I have read the Twilight Series ... Harry Potter Series... Marked Series (the last one kind of turned me off on that series -- a little too much teen age talk)

oh and I like the Highlander Series. The Fae Series is amazing!!!!!! A bit different than her Highlander Series (no throw down s** either)

I read the Outlander Series -- waiting for the last book

I have also read the midnight breed series... light reading, not as good of quality but ok if you just want entertainment. I have several series that are like that.

I love Gresham as an author. aww.. the list goes on :)

Sorrryy LOL... On in school now so I read text books ..... The last book I read was Steve Harvey book about men .... Then he was in the news about cheating on his wife. So I threw the book away LOL... Bit lil SIS what can we do to start up the book club I'm fairly new to yt.. I have only one friend.... Lol ... How can we start it up..

Oh, you girls wouldn't want to read my tons of books...my latest craze is regency era romance :D

I know it is all crap....but I love relaxing late in bed and reading a couple pages of this mushie stuff to put me to sleep :p

I read the Fae Series, and LOVED IT! I tried to read the Highlander series and just felt there was too much 'steamy' and not enough story so I didn't finish the first book. I barely remember it at all, all I remember is reading it and not liking it.

James Patterson has a new series out called Maximum Ride. It's a young adult series, but its pretty good. I finished book 2 last month but haven't picked up book 3 yet.
I love reading and I do need some good book ideas. Lately Ive been reading too much young adult books (most are free on the Nook that is why) so I am interested in starting a more grown up book! LOL

Hey, nothing wrong with that. I love reading Judith McNaught. If you haven't read her books, they are good (in my opinion) Like Whitney my love, Once and Always, Something Wonderful and Until you! They are set in England during 'The season' ... I think they are great books. I can picture the gowns, the properness, the secrets and hiding things, those parts are better than the 'steamy' parts! LOL

If you like too, read the Vegas Series by Fern Michaels, Vegas Rich, Vegas Heat and Vegas Sunrise. Ive read 4 books in my life that I won't forget. I could read them over & over again.... these are 3 of them. I LOVED them! Easy reading, but wonderful wonderful story! The other one is Hot Shots by Suzanne Elizabeth Phillips. GREAT book! All 4 of those books are fiction, not really romance but GREAT stories.

I read all the time but most of it is some type of romance, Debbie Macomber, Susan Mallery, Robyn Carr, Sherryl Woods,and others like this.

I agree... I tend to skip over it. Her books got better. I just read a couple of book in a series that I LOVED the story but just didn't want to read the "steamy" anymore. I read a review of the next book and it said it was even more "steamy" so I moved on.

I have read a lot of Patterson... thank you for the review!!

I have read a lot of free books too (amazon... kindle). I promise to make a list of all the books that I LIKED and post it today..

I just started reading Lost All Along by Peter Limongello. So far it is so funny I have almost peed my pants. The only place I have been able to find it was Amazon. Remember when you buy from Amazon to go to Yorkie Haven Rescue site and click the link on the left side to get to Amazon that way they get a portion of the sale.

I have never read a romance novel ! I wouldn't mind reading one as long as the storyline IS good !

Has anyone read The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins? This is supposed to be for young adults as well - but I loved it anyway!

I end up getting into series romance, ( where the story continues to the next book, but introduces new people) they aren't trashy, but enjoyable. Mostly Robyn Carr or Sherryl Woods. Also Debbie Macomber.

I have! I thought it was excellent... what a concept! It was different, that was what I liked about it so much!

I have read a lot of Fern Michaels and like her also, but I could not get interested in the Sisterhood series, too gruesome for me.

Ohhhh, I never read that series. Try the Vegas series though, they are really really good! :)

I will, I have them but just never read them. The sisterhood is about this group of women that go around torturing and killing men that have done them wrong. read the first 2 books, but now there are like 10-12 in the series.

Do you have the paper books or an E-reader? I need some Nook buddies! I would like to try that series. I like murder mysteries.... wait .... are they mysteries? They sound a bit gruesome for sure!

No I still have old fashioned paper backs thought about the kindle or nook but I like to throw my books on the bed and hold them. Don't have to worry about them and I keep all my hard back books. Have about 100 of those. The Sister hood is like mystery cause you are trying to solve the crimes.

Also, who loves British History (like 1100's - 1900)? I know Kazzy likes this...but wondering about other members?

I love to read! I like series the most because I always get attached to the characters and don't want to let them go. :p

I HIGHLY recommend the Morganville Vampires series; I LOVED THEM! I even liked them better than Twilight...:eek:

I'm not much of a history buff, but I do LOVE British literature. My favorite current British author (and maybe even my favorite current author overall) is Kazuo Ishiguro. I also really like most Ian McEwen novels.

I adore most classic British lit - Alcott, Austen, the Bronte sisters, most Dickens stuff. I re-read Little Women and Wuthering Heights a couple of years ago...totally different feeling now compared to reading them when I was younger.
