hunt and fish....i've been doing it my whole entire life and i have to teach him techniques. also camping and survival tactics in the wilderness. i'm the one that backpacked across MT for four days on the Missouri river with a tent, canoe, and my backpack of food. he wouldn't know the first thing. i had to teach him to grill, to cook, to clean properly, to brush his teeth in the morning so he doesn't get sick (still working on it) :D :D :D |

Doneness Check using your hands This works...I do a variation on this. I use the back of a fork and check the spring of the meat....but the hand thing will get you used to what to look for. |
Oh my goodness...this thread is funny.... Where should I start? Most recent, the tv picture was frozen...he couldn't get the remote to work or anything else...so he went up stairs to watch the little tv because he couldn't miss any of "the game." While he was gone, I walked over and popped out the card, restarted the cable, done. I am the mechanic around here. I find lost things that are right in the front of the shelf (if it was a snake, it would have bit you...) I am the plummer, the sprinkler programmer, etc. It is frusterating at times, but he does bring home the "bacon", doesn't complain about the little dog, puts his clothes in the hamper, and loves me (34 years) so I guess it evens out somehow. :) |

My husband is a plumber but I can't get the toilet in my master bathroom to quit running at 3am. I threaten him all the the time that I'm going to call another plumber to come fix it lol. |
This complaint isn't about a household member-it's about one of these ridiculous maintainance men, hope you don't mind.;) I called last weekend cuz my fridge was 55 degrees! I had stuck a food thermometer in there when I noticed stuff wasn't cold. I ran to the 24 hour store & bought some dry ice to try to help it til morning. I called & the on-call guy came. He opened the freezer & said "your stuff is still frozen, what are you talking about?". I showed him the temp & he "discovered" the problem...I had the fridge & freezer turned up too high!!! High as in COLDER in an effort to save my food. I tried to explain to him why & he said "ma'am, where do you see that at?", I was so irritated! I just said ok, my fault, blah, blah. On Monday I called & requested the good guy. He came & actually investigated to find the problem-my whole stupid motor was fried! Hmm, wonder if I did that with the dial as well.:rolleyes: If you're paid specifically to fix things, then fix them, or at least attempt! |
