I don't know if you have an alarm (ie ADT), but it's a must here in metro Phoenix. If you do need one in your city, I can tell you that they're very reassuring. My hub travels too, and I'm always more skittish at night when he is gone. I keep the phone right by the bed. |

I have an alarm as well now. I think an alarm helps us to feel safer. We were broke into about 3 years ago. Something I will never ever forget about. We used to have Shadow penned up. So he couldn't get to them. Now, he runs free. I will never put him in a pen again. Hubby also took days in teaching me how to shoot. I have been completely trained on a gun now. :D And let me just say, I am a pretty good shot! Lol. |
Yes; phone by the bed (when you go to sleep is a must) in my books. We have two BRT's that are not crated at night (only Razz is for his safety). One time my hubby came home and I don't know why nobody heard him; but when he walked towards the bedroom door, all of a sudden I was jerked awake by three dogs barking, one of my brt's went through the door at a dead run, and then I heard back pedalling, and the ferocious barks turned to hi Daddy barks!. Pics of the big ones are in my album We do have our property posted as be bylaw; beware of dogs. I hope after a few nights you will feel more at home in your home. |
